For the pillows, I recommend listening to their Living Field album. Its Fusion done in more of a rock way putting more emphasis on electric guitars a lot more than other jazz traditional instruments. Also the time signatures are simple and not complex as most jazz fusion music. This album isn't mostly fusion it also has pop/rock and funk rock elements to it.

As for Mega City Four, I can't say too much about them but I'm dieing to buy one of their albums someday If I can get a record player that is.

the other the stuff I listened to was basically me browsing Japanese pop/punk rock acts and pop punk/power pop acts. I remembered liking THE CHECKERS though I don't know what to recommend from them.

MF DOOM - The Mic
Swans - A Piece Of The Sky
BBNG - CHSTR
Joey Bada$$ - Escape 120

Josef K 01-26-2015 06:09 PM

As usual, decent stuff but I don't like BBNG and I'm not learning anything new about you - other than Ridiculon, who I've never heard of, and Joey Badass, who I guess you've only been getting into recently, these are six artists who you talk about constantly. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but my responses to all your shuffles continue to be pretty much the same.

The Rolling Stones – I Just Want To See His Face
R.E.M. – Auctioneer (Another Engine)
The Soft Boys – Positive Vibrations
The Fall – The Classical
Dum Dum Girls – Mine Tonight
Ty Segall Band – Death

Wovenhand – Aeolian Harp (Under the Wood)
Drive-By Truckers – The Southern Thing

Charlemagne 01-26-2015 06:12 PM

EDIT: Josef K: A lot of bands I like there, but none that I really love.

Some pretty cool stuff on that shuffle. I'm a fan of MF Doom, Wilco and Tyler, The Creator. Not a fan of The Flaming Lips though and Swans is a band I know I need to give a chance to but for some reason never do. I haven't heard the rest.

Tullycraft - Glitter & Twang
Lightspeed Champion - No Surprise (For Wendela) / Midnight Surprise
Nate & Kate - Ttyl Now Baby
Beirut - Cherbourg
Bombay Bicycle Club - Magnet
Immaculate Machine - Primary Colors
Joyce Manor - Famous Friend

Yeah I think I need to take a break for a while on these shuffles, it's not that I'm not listening to different stuff, it's that I can only cram so many albums onto my phone where I play most of my music. Untill I have a computer that can fit all the **** that I've been really really wanting while keeping my old favorites.

The Dead Milkmen - 'Laundromat Song'
Pantera - 'Walk'
KoRn - 'Ball Tongue'
Butthole Surfers - 'Leave Me Alone'
Built to Spill - 'Fly Around Me Pretty Little Miss'
Green Day - 'Brain Stew'
The Hives - 'Diabolic Scheme'
Faith No More - 'Faster Disco'
The Killers - 'All These Things That I've Done'

I hate all of those except Butthole Surfers. I've never heard of Butthole Surfers so I'm going to take a chance and say that is my favorite.

1.) Now's The Only Time I know - Fever Ray
2.) Desired Constellation - Bjork

5.) Intro - Clipping
6.) Hood - Perfume Genius

Frownland 02-05-2015 10:12 PM

Swans, Clipping, Hecker, and Death Grips are great. Antlers bore the **** out of me though and Bjork is pretty hit and miss for me.

灰野敬二 - 終わりにさせろ (わたしだけ?)
Floros Floridis, Peter Kowald, & Baby Sommer - XXI Aphorismus (Aphorismus 1-26)

Musica Transonic - Δεεπ (Kali 1999)
Nurse With Wound & Gavin Bryars - Dancing Tiger (Excitotoxicity)

great track amongst a great list of wonderful artists

Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box (Original Steve Albini 1993 Mix) (In Utero)
The Undertones - Mars Bars (The Undertones)

Frownland 02-06-2015 01:49 PM

That would actually be really awesome if the they did a collab.

Zyrada 02-06-2015 07:27 PM

Don Caballero always occurs to me as someone I should probably listen to more of. Swans is Swans, and the others on that list I don't have any real experience with.

Tobacco - Truck Sweat (****ed Up Friends)
Techno Animal - Glass Prism Enclosure (The Brotherhood of the Bomb)
Why? - A Little Titanic (Oaklandazulasylum)
Swans - Blood and Honey (Children of God)

Doldrums - Anomaly (Lesser Evil)
Oneohtrix Point Never - Still Life (R Plus Seven)
Janelle Monáe - BabopbyeYa (The ArchAndroid)
Battles - Inchworm (Gloss Drop)

I did a last.fm library shuffle because I don't really use anything for actual shuffling anymore, and I don't have a singular library to speak of other than that. This just doesn't seem random enough, though. Seems like the library shuffle was limited to what the bot trawler could find on YouTube.

Charlemagne 02-06-2015 08:54 PM

Why?, Death Grips and Metric are a-okay with me. Solid shuffle

Their / They're / There - Concession Speech Writer

Frightened Rabbit - Who'd You Kill Now?
Bon Iver - Blindsided
Youth Funeral - Lush
La Dispute - I See Everything
Obits - Double Jeopardy (For The Third Time)
They Might Be Giants - Broke In Two

Blarobbarg 02-07-2015 12:46 AM

I'm afraid the only thing in there I know for sure I like is that Bon Iver song. But I've heard good things about La Dispute, I should take them up sometime.

Gorilla Biscuits - Start Today
Led Zeppelin - Dancing Days
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Cold & Wet

Erik K Skodvin - Pitch dark
Young Oceans - A Rising Fire
Ty Segall - Tall Man Skinny Lady
Ab-Soul - Just Have Fun
Fugazi - Sieve-Fisted Find
DJ Krush - Underneath the System

Eh. Lots of artists that I like this time around, but not many songs that I'm too terribly crazy about. Oh Well. They can't all be winners.

bob. 02-08-2015 12:47 PM

Great Gorilla Biscuits and Fugazi tracks....and everybody could use a little more Al Green in their lives :)

Lydia Lunch & Rowland S. Howard - In My Time of Dying (Shotgun Wedding)
The Afghan Whigs - My Curse (Gentlemen)
Made Out Of Babies - Death In April (Coward)
The Velvet Underground - Stephanie Says (The Best of the Velvet Underground Words and Music of Lou Reed by The Velvet Underground)

Zer0 02-08-2015 01:08 PM

I love the Afghan Whigs, Pixies, The Sound and The Velvet Underground. I only know Lydia Lunch from Teenage Jesus & The Jerks but haven't heard any of her other stuff.

Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It

Amplifier - Fall of the Empire
The Cure - Dredd Song

Lemonheads - My Drug Buddy
Mclusky - Whoyouknow?
The Flaming Lips - Lightening Strikes the Postman
