A felicitous description for the king of radical Jewish mindfuck music!

John Zorn certainly pushes the envelope and I admire his eclecticism. A yes from me.

If I were to vote I'd probably vote yes at this point, since everyone here seems to be suggesting he is an artist of quite some distinction...it seems like he is probably in anyways!

Never heard of him.

John Zorn is in then. Stand by for an induction round later on today.

He sounds pretty distinguished given the rather enthusiastic backing he got here.. perhaps I'll have to check him out soon!

Bad Brains

Bad Brains were one of the founding fathers of hardcore punk, and arguably the most unique band to come out of the early 80's hardcore scene. The band is notable for incorporating Reggae and Rastafarian themes into their music. With their blistering tempos, technical guitar, and HR's signature vocal delivery, Bad Brains were in my opinion, the best hardcore punk band. They later went on to experiment with funk and heavy metal in addition to their energetic, Rasta-themed punk sound. Bad Brains have inspired and continue to inspire a wide variety of bands, including, but not limited to Beastie Boys, The Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fugazi.[/QUOTE]

Yes for sure! it's the cream of the crop for that old school hardcore punk sound.

Bad Brains were the BEST hardcore punk band of the 80's. Rock For Light and their s/t are bursting at the seems with raw energy.

I seem to be in the minority here (well, I'm the only one who has voted this...), but I voted no for Bad Brains. From what I have heard I have simply never enjoyed them, which I believe is the point to all of this. As for influence, originality, etc they deserve many honors and a spot in a hall of fame. But as this hall of fame is designed to reflect the tastes of the members here, I'm going to have to say no. Nothing against them, just not my thing I guess.

Bad Brains are one of my favourite punk bands, which is all the more impressive considering i only actually listen to the debut out of the studio albums, it's that good. One of my friends recently declared them 'scary' but there's a ton of hooks on that album, it's solid the whole way through. Not to mention Sailin' On which is one of my favourite songs ever hands down. One of the best nominations yet.
