I've already tried fixing that and I called and emailed and went to the apple store... It's gone.. I gave up on that aspect of it... I just don't know where to go from there? Because my old music collection was purely iTunes and now I don't want to use it again especially with the raise in prices... so what should I use now? Napster? Rhapsody? Amazon downloads? or maybe just buying CDs.... I don't know.... any advice?

There are places and ways to get music, legal or otherwise, but really - if you've paid them, then they are obligated to supply unless there's something completely crazy going on with itunes compared to how it works in the rest of the world.

I don't know what sums of money it is we're talking about, but if I were you, I wouldn't give up until they gave me my music back.

well the issues is that I bought the music on my old laptop and they won't give it to me on my new laptop. If my old laptop still worked, then they would replace it to me on the old laptop but the issue is that my old laptop is completely unfixable and even though my new laptop uses the same itunes account they won't return the music. Because I think the issue with that would be that a bunch of people could use the same account on different computers and just share music... so I'm not quite sure how to get that music back at this point.... Because I've emailed them and went to the apple store to ask and what they say is pretty much "well I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do about that but why don't you buy a back up hard drive to prevent this from happening again?" :/

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I'm at around 100 gb, which kinda sucks because I have to pick and choose what to put on my Cowon now even though it's 80 gb

All purchased though, I don't download any music.

I'm about back to where I was as I've got about 80 gigs worth, but I seem to have only 12000 songs. Well, it maybe because I value quality so much and I have nothing below 128kbs. Ha! well, I suppose that's a good thing.

i finished ripping my cd collection a little while ago. didn't load it into iTunes because i don't want to have to reorganize them but there are just shy of 6500 files, or 13 days and between 6 and 7 hours of music.

digitally it's another 8000 or so.
