I would post about Wavves in a thread like "bands you hate that other people tend to love," but I would probably guess about 95% of people would just hate my taste in music in general. I can't think of one particular band or artist though...Cage? Ingrid Michaelson?

So it's partly sentimental reasons, but I do think Dookie is a great record. Same can't be said for Smash I'm afraid. |

If you're gonna bother doing Pop-Punk, do a Trashed or At The Club. |

Smash kicks Dookies ass any day. And overall: The Offspring > Green Day It's not even close. |

spot on about Smash being WAY better than Dookie though. |

@Paloma: Did you not read the quoted part of my post? Or the parentheses?
@thread: The Offspring are pretty great, and Smash is pretty great. So there. |
The Doors
I get a lot of crap for liking this band. None of my friends like them I can't speak for the forum though. Radiohead I only have one friend who likes this band and we always have to make a valid case on why there so awesome. Guns N' Roses I've had an on and off relationship with guns. I've learned to respect there earlier stuff though. I favor there earlier work over there newer stuff mainly because the new guns has none of it's original members besides the keyboardist. From my understanding a lot of people on here hate them. Nirvana I was once obsessed with this band like no other and still enjoy them. A lot of people don't like them though I've seen it on this forum and through my interactions with people at school |
OMG. I completely forgot about the one band I REALLY like that people REALLY hate.
http://mostpopularunpopular.files.wo...riah-heep2.jpg Uriah Heep. The guys that Spinal Tap ripped off. :D |

They all look ultra-gay in that pic, aside from the mofo on the right who looks like he's going to gouge my eyes out with a candlestick.

But seriously. Those guys have made some of the best driving albums ever.

The Doors are a hard band to say is either overrated or underrated though, they're like Nirvana in that it goes both ways, a lot of people love them and a lot of people hate them, truly one of the most polarizing rock bands. Another controversial one is Red Hot Chili Peppers, they have their devoted fanbase and their even more devoted haters. |
James Chance and the Contortions.
The Shaggs |

My list is pretty boring - I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting. The Eagles Robbie Williams Coldplay Alice in Chains Neil Diamond Elton John |

I know its bad, but I dont go deeper than the singles.. and I'm not saying its good music, I just dont mind it. Like I wont shoot myself if it comes onto the radio?

It seems a lot of people start off getting into these kinds of classic rock bands and then later they get into the more hip indie stuff.
For me it was kinda the reverse. I was into stuff like My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and Pavement before I got into a lot of classic rock stuff like Sabbath, Heep, Purple, Tull, Cooper, etc. And before I caught the prog fever. Today because of all the different styles of music I have acquired over the years I just go back and forth in different phases and I just listen to different things at random all the time. |

Yeah, I hate them. Although Call Me When You're Sober is a good song. |

Yeah that's another band I forgot to mention, the Gab era is well liked enough, but I'm an avid defender of the Phil era at least until Invisible Touch, which marks the point where Genesis became indistinguishable from Phil's solo work, which I'm not a fan of. With the exception of this one, which sums up his solo career pretty well. |
