my_crappy_name 05-10-2006 03:01 AM

I'll probably get my ass jumped for saying this, but Iron Maidens "Aces High" sounds alot better on Children Of Bodoms cover.

Wow, I don't even want to hear the vocals on that.

As for mine:
Iced Earth- Sabbath's Electric Funeral, BOC's Burning for You, Transylvania
Metallica (where do I begin) -Mercyfull Fate, Queen's Stone Cold Crazy, Diamond Head's It's Electric; Am I Evil?; The Prince; and Helpless; BOC's Astronomy, The Misfit's Die Die my Darling; Last Caress/ Green Hell
Led Zeppelin- Traveling Riverside Blues (by Robert Johnson I believe)
Pantera- Sabbath's Planet Caravan
Blind Guardian- Iron Butterfly's In a Gadda Da Vida, all their Beach Boy's Songs

Known in the 60's as the Glasgow bike.

...according to me mam.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-10-2006 11:11 AM

Well she was working her way through the members of Take That in the 90s so that doesn`t really surprise me

stakeraiser 05-10-2006 01:16 PM

Red Hot Chili Peppers - love rollercoaster - originally done by the Ohio Players

DearJenny 05-10-2006 01:45 PM

I rather liked Cradle of Filth's cover of Mr. Crowley *prepares to be beaten up*

TheBig3 05-10-2006 03:15 PM

Mike Ness - Don't think twice its alright.

swim 05-10-2006 03:21 PM

metallica- die die my darling

mosesandtherubberducky 05-10-2006 04:49 PM

^isn't James a big Misfits fan? I see him wearing one of their shirts a lot in their older band photos

swim 05-10-2006 04:57 PM

I think so. I know for a fact Cliff was so maybe it goes hand in hand. I've never seen those pictures or maybe I just overlooked it.

TheBig3 05-10-2006 05:07 PM

Actually Nay, it was Kirk who brought the band alot of punk. I remember readin an interview with James saying "Yeah Kirk used to be really into the misfits ****, and he'd drum it on the dashboard which was scary because he wasn't that great of a driver anyway"

swim 05-10-2006 05:16 PM

Thanks I never knew that. In the few interviews that Cliff did he mentioned Glen Danzig a lot.

soft cell-tainted love completely smashes the original

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-10-2006 05:24 PM

Leatherface - Candle In The Wind

Nothing like having an Elton John song played in the style of Motorhead by a bunch of big fat hairy bikers :D

Uglycasanova 06-05-2006 09:22 PM

death letter - the white stripes
(org. by son house)

elanor rigby - thrice
(org. by the beatles)

Stone Magnet 06-05-2006 09:27 PM

Tool - No Quarter

Blain 06-05-2006 10:43 PM

Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal

I hate Michael Jackson's version of it but I love this one especially the guitar in it, simple but catchy:)

cozzay 06-06-2006 01:53 AM

Le tigre - I'm so excited. I Hate the original one but i think Le tigres version is great, more energetic.

I may be in the minority here, but I liked Marilyn Manson's version of Tainted Love better than the original.

Lol the little kid dancing is a PIMP!

scout_75 06-06-2006 09:12 PM

I am sure most of you wouldn't agree with me, but I was rather impressed with the cover of "Saturday Night's Alright" by Nickelback and Kid Rock. It was really awesome to hear it done with some heavier drums and bass.

IamAlejo 06-06-2006 09:20 PM

BTBAM "Blackened" >>> Metallica "Blackened"

as a matter of fact, BTBAM outperforms almost all the bands on the songs they re-did for the new album.

Uglycasanova 06-06-2006 09:30 PM

this one probly isnt better, but i like hungry like the wolf - reel big fish

Cheese 06-07-2006 02:10 AM

I kind of like Marianne Faithful's cover of Lennon's "Working Class Hero".

Myrrh Miasma 06-07-2006 02:14 AM

Spooky Tooth's version of "I am the Walrus".

Alo 06-07-2006 06:50 AM

Garage Groove inc. did a cover cd on songs by QotSA, and some of them are better than the original. Actually. :)

Raine 06-09-2006 03:18 PM

Shinedown - Simple Man
The Melvins - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Peace

stanworshipper 06-09-2006 05:04 PM

Frou Frou - Holding Out For A Hero
http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13100881
