For me, almost all hip-hop (while occaisionally interesting lyrically), is lacking in musical creativity, redundant, stagnant, quite literally retarded mentally and just plain ugly.

Nope.

EDIT: the fact that you used the phrase literally with the added intensifier 'quite' when clearly you weren't being literal almost bugs me as much as your statement. Almost.

Would the Foo Fighters debut apply under "drummers making solo albums"?

I meant that most hip-hop is a crime against music, for the afore-mentioned reasons.
All we have is our opinions. Don't get fussy just because our opinions differ. What more explanation do you require?

I think your claim is a crime against music. There! Take that!

I think I'd prefer something more well thought out. For example, I find your claim specious that hip-hop is literally of subaverage intellectual ability equivalent to or less than an IQ of 70 that is accompanied by significant deficits in abilities (as in communication or self-care) necessary for independent daily functioning, is present from birth or infancy, and is manifested especially by delayed or abnormal development, by learning difficulties, and by problems in social adjustment.

DAYVAN COWBOY'S FORCE FED INSTRUMENTAL HIP-HOP/TRIP HOP TIME!

DJ Shadow = the man

Amon Tobin is a big thing in Trip Hop. It's impossible to not like him, really. He's never released a bad album. And hey! he lives in Montreal! I used to live there!

POOORRTIIIIISSSSSHHEEEAADDDDD

It's actually IDM, but there's no denying the late eighties hip-hop influence here. It's been said that at one time, Autechre were b-boys. Also, if any of you guys are wondering, the bro in my avatar is Rob Brown, one member of Autechre

Boards Of Canada's mentors were Autechre. And, Autechre taught them well. BOC ARE MAI SCOTTISH GODS SO BOW DOWN TO MHTRTC RIGHT NAO.

So the lesson is, that hip hop is not lacking in creativity. in fact, i'd like to say that instrumental hip-hop and trip-hop are some of the most creative genres. STFU.
GENERALISATIONS = BAD
EDIT: lol do you have last.fm? I want to creep on what you're listening to. See if your music really does come from scruffy white dudes staring into their effects pedals.

The guy's clearly an ignorant numbnuts. 'Redundant'? 'Lacking in musical creativity'? Let me guess, creativity for you equals scruffy white dude staring into his effects pedal.
