I love a lot doom-type stuff actually, it's one of my favorite types of metal. I just tend to listen to bands that don't have the real bombastic vocals. Some favorites:

Ufomammut
Warhorse (the American one)
Boris
Electric Wizard
Sleep
Sons of Otis
Ultraphallus
Weedeater

Haha you just scored huge points. Try listening to Acid King (III). Low key vocals and very Electric Wizard. I can upload it if you chose to.

Already a fan of Acid King actually. They don't make the cream of crop list for me but I do like them. Have you ever checked out Orange Goblin or Mammatus? If you haven't, I'm guessing you'd like both of them.

Frequencies From Planet Ten is a superb album, as is Time Travlin Blues. And Mammatus is pretty cool as well. I only have The Coast Explodes but id definitely like to check out other stuff they have.

ps:

Coolest album cover ever???

I only also have the Coast Explodes from Mammatus, but I do have "Healing Through Fire" from Orange Goblin if you've never heard it and have any interest.
