Are you using one of these really cheap crappy plastic players, Tore?

As far as cleaning goes;
- 1/2 litre of demineralized water
- 1/2 litre of denaturized acohol
- few drops of the stuff you manually wash your dishes with
- few drops of the stuff you put in your dishwasher to prevent your dishes to have dried up drops of water on them (I haven't got a clue what that's called in English )

And here it comes: Use a bath brush made from horse hair or something like that. Put the record on a soft cloth and make round movements, following the grooves. Don't 'scrub'.

I myself have an Okki Nokki by the way. Google it

So far, I've just used soapy water and a wide paintbrush like one you might paint furniture with, like this basically, just a bit smaller :

Anyways, on a flea market last weekend, I got some LPs, mostly old norwegian stuff. I also got Marillion's Script for a Jester's Tears

I'm not actually a big Marillion fan, but as it's a classic ..

edit :

I wouldn't dare, really. Toothpaste is basically fine-grained sand (actually too fine to be called sand, but it illustrates what I mean). That's why it cleans stuff, you're scrubbing hard but very fine particles over your teeth. I'd worry that if you brush your LPs with toothpaste, you'll wear down the vinyl.

I bought the very few vinyls I have all at yard sales. The Doors - 13 which was Elektras way of promoting The Doors by putting out a greatest hits album back in '68 for the christmas season. Also got The Doors - Waiting For The Sun the original released in '68 with the gatefold of Jim Morrisons poems and also got a mint Van Halen's debut. I would take it out of the wrap, but I have nothing to play it on.

The music in yard sales and flea markets around here are relatively awful.
