I just wondered are there any Dylan songs where his original eclipses the covers? If so , what are they ?

Bob Dylan is definitely an artist, where I don't feel his delivery does his material justice. Brilliant lyrics, kinda so-so melodies, and the arrangements and his singing are just so bland and boring. So there is a lot of potential for covers improving on his songs, but I can't really think of some. I don't really care.

I will have to admit, Bob Dylan's music really touches me on a spiritual level, the mans lyrics are simply superb, and they all have a strong feeling or meaning.

His only album that's even remotely consistent enough to be considered a personal classic is Blonde on Blonde, but I understand why so many of his albums are revered the way they are. He's an artist who can introduce new ideas into music while still excelling at those ideas, so that he can't be thrown away and forgotten in a decade.

edit: this isn't even what the OP was asking about... I'm/we're a little off-topic.

I've heard a few good covers of his works, namely "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go", but none eclipse the originals in my opinion.

I don't even know what you're saying here. He stays relevant because he's gimmicky?

There's no covers of the really interesting Dylan songs if you ask me.
Like... Simple twist of fate, Blind Willie McTell, Lily, Rosemarey and the Jack of Hearts, Visions of Johanna.

Lately some dutch guy translated a lot of Dylan Lyrics and they were sung by some other Dutch dude. It sucks.
I have a Dylan comicbook though in which various comic artists draw comics to the lyrics. It's very nice, very stylish
