As for female singers, I'm not a fan of most, especially in rock music. I find their voices are better suited for styles of music i.e. Country or Electronica.

I'm not saying there aren't talented female singers out there, but they're rare, and they're normally poorly placed and/or paired with inferior musicians.

Oh right, that is bad of him.

I actually still think it's funny because I wasn't around for the joke in the dirt-mcgirt days.

Trip Hop works almost exclusively with female vocals. Male vocals rarely come close to replicating the feel of the music.

I have a lot Female vocal music and generally find it much more conducive to what I look for in music regarding emotion and atmosphere.

I find far fewer male vocalists able to hold their own with their voice alone and they seem to work a lot better in groups as opposed to solo artists whereas female solo vocals are far more expressive.

There are exceptions to the rule in both cases but if you fail to be moved by voices such as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Edie Brickell, Tracey Thorne, Natalie Merchant, Yasuko Onuki, Bjork, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Ari Up, Tracey Chapman, Moira Brennan, Asa, Dot Allison, Jesca Hoop, Linda Perhacs, Regina Spektor and Sarah McClachlan then you are seriously missing out on some exceptional talent.

I can say i dont judge about female singer in a band because there are a lot of female singers that are good and nice to listen. i think its not about that they are female singer in a band but its about on how they sang the song that make people appreciate it.

Well I did some (cursory) listening and sorry to say I'm no convert. Linda Perhacs sounded interesting though.
