I consider myself quite lucky to live in a city like Manchester.
We have countless venues and most, if not all bands visit the city at one time, or another.
The furthest I've probably travelled to watch a band would probably be Birmingham, about 200 miles away.
I once ventured into enemy territory to watch The Raconteurs, against my better judgement, but the wife had already bought the tickets (on my credit card) so I didn't have much choice in the matter!

Never! It is a culmination of listening to music for over 25 years. I am just hoping that I am not too pissed to appreciate it!

I live in Cincinnati, a fairly big city. But I still travel to other towns from time to time to see gigs because (1) Not all bands I'd like to see come to Cincinnati on every tour, and
(2) Bands might come to my town but on a date I can't make it because of work, family, etc. It helps that there are a number of good sized cities within a 100 to 300 mile radius.

The longest distance I've ever traveled specifically to see a gig was to Chicago in 2006 to see The Fall. I've seen shows in cities when I've traveled further but the trip wasn't primarily to see a gig, or seeing the gig was a game time decision.

Leeds usually gets all the bands I want to see, and our local scene metal scene rocks so there's that. But sometimes certain bands leave out Leeds for a show in ****ing Manchester instead. So I usually make the trip to London to see them.

100 miles is it too far to see live performance?
