I hate crabcore. It's not the music actually. Their attitude. Oh, gee. That's gross.

Yes, I cut out what everyone who likes hip-hop would call 'the good bit', but you get the idea.
The tapedecks on the video are mine, a friend made the video after he repaired those machines for me.
I like your little clip of the Roots song, but I haven't heard enough hip hop to get beyond not liking most of it, and not knowing what qualities about hip hop its fans most appreciate.

Carry on.
I like s_k's words, his tape decks, and his use of emoticons. I don't feel annoyed by them at all. If I did feel annoyed by what someone said to the point that I didn't like reading his words, I'd stop reading rather than fault the person for writing.

The Blues Travelers band has been influenced by a variety of genres, including blues-rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock, soul, and Southern rock.
They are known for extensive use of segues in their live performances.

This.

I can get into a few bands like Yes & Gentle Giant -- basically prog acts that don't take themselves too seriously. But the bombastic, over-the-top ugliness that characterizes twenty minute interludes is really disheartening. King Crimson is the only real prog act that I can sit down, listen to & be mesmerized every second of it.

Any takers?

if you don't like it merely cos it's "rock", try some Canterbury prog, they have a lot of jazz elements - National Health's first two albums are a good place to start

BUMP!

The new 'Roots' album, "Undun" might go some way to change a few opinions on Hip Hop. Excellent album so far.

Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
