I just saw Reggie Watts the other night and he was absolutely amazing. His live is so much better than what you find online.

I saw "Altın Gün" recently. Their first show of their first ever North American tour. Turkish folk/pop/rock by way of Amsterdam, Netherlands. They drew a fairly good crowd of about 400 to 450 and on a Monday night, no less.
Good stuff!

Caught the Isaura String Quartet at a local festival today. This was the second time I've seen them and they did a piece by an LA up and comer Scott Worthington called Landscape Listens. It was a droning post minimalist piece and it was the most intense live experiences I've ever had. This was my second time seeing them, but they've changed a couple of members since the last time I caught them and was totally unprepared for how evocative their playing would be. They're now one of those groups where I will do my all to never miss one of their performances now.

I also caught Joshua White Trio in a chapel with no ventilation and it was a brutal endurance test. Their performance was cool but surface level free improv where they were pretty unsyncopated outside of the grooves they'd eventually fall into.

Last show I saw was Niloufar Shiri on Kamâncheh with a synth player where they played some really great ragas.

A lot of other good performances as well but nothing of note outside of those three. I was going to see a performance of Terry Riley's music on a pipe organ but it was in that chapel and that **** is unbearable enough to make me miss it.

In November I'm seeing Sleater Kinney and later that month seeing Cursive with Cloud Nothings. Cloud Nothings is still my favorite concert and I've seen The Good Life but never Cursive so I'm pumped.

King Crimson last night was as incredible as expected. They played material from across their discography and did a lot of awesome improv on the classics. Fripp and Levin were god tier and this show had some of the best live drumming I've ever seen with the triple drummers. Never been crazy about KC's use of horns but Mel Collins really won me over. I almost cried when they did Lark's Tongues.

The crowd was annoying though. Big stadium and they would do standing ovations in the middle of songs like it was the first time they'd listened to Moonchild all the way through. There was a no recording/photos policy and if Fripp would spot someone in the audience doing it, he would point and shake his head, which I thought was pretty funny. I shelled out for these seats and it was worth it.

Long shot but anybody know good shows happening today/tomorrow that I could get back from by 4pm Sunday? I'm in Denver, down for going out of state.

Was already planning to for an Infected Mushroom concert, but decided against it cause it's specifically post-Burning Man and well, I'm no playa.

Any rock/electronic, maybe outside that if it's good. I like a wide variety, mostly industrial and metal or older style alternative & punk. And any electronic as long as it's not that hyper dub ****.
