Voting Frownland. I really dug the psychedelic freak-out at the end.

Rubato- 2
Unrelenting- 0
Janszoon- 2
Frownland- 2

I'm voting for Unrelenting. I thought his felt the most like "Implosion/Explosion" despite my not really knowing what that genre is...

I also liked the pan work in his track.

edit:
Rubato- 2
Unrelenting- 1
Janszoon- 2
Frownland- 2

It's not supposed to be a genre, it's a theme. As per the rules in the OP:

Quote:
Every week a member of the song off will be selected to choose a theme. The theme must be broad, so that it can be interpreted in many different ways, not restricted to musical genre
The idea is to make it fairly open to interpretation so people have the freedom to be more creative with their ideas.

Hmmmm, it was pretty hard to decide. The only one that I wasn't feeling was Frownland's submission.

After listening to all the entries multiple times, I have decided that Janszoon's "Tikka Masala Regrets" is my favorite. It really does capture the ugliness and violence of an explosion.

I'll leave voting up a few hours longer, before wrapping it up. Meantime I'll message the next person to choose the theme.

Sh*t, I just came here to vote for Janszoon's track. Well, I guess it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Congrats, Jansz!!!

In regard to his track, I really felt like it captured a sense of chaos. The very nature of it was explosive and disordered, but you could feel the order beneath it all, and you knew it was violent and menacing. It's pure texture and raw emotion unleashed. I felt like it really captured the theme the best.

With that said, I really enjoyed the other tracks as well. I could say many things about them and it would take a while to do so, so I'm going to limit myself to mini-reviewing only the song I vote for.

Good job, guys.

Sorry I've been a bit disorginized in deadlines and such with this contest, but it's my first time doing anything of this nature, so there is a bit of a learning curve involved. I have to consider people's busy lives when it comes to voting deadlines especially
