We're not talking about today's music. This thread is specifically calling for 80's music.

that has nothing to do with what we were discussing as a matter of why cheesiness is a quality people seem to like.

Just read my comments in this thread and you'll understand why you're completely missing the point.

the point is pointless at this point. i was simply asking what your gauge of cheesiness was and why you liked it. apparently your gauge is simple 'is it 80s? ok i like it".

you must learn to embrace the cheese

power metal is cheesy as Camembert, but i love it

it's not even hipster mentality, it sounds good even if it's cheesy

as for cheesy movies, sometimes unintentionally funny movies can be funnier than intentional ones

Alright, let's just put it behind us then, no reason to continue on. Instead, i'll recommend you some good stuff you'd probably like.

And just for the theme of the thread, here's Rick Astley's new single he released last year:

And just for the hell of it, give this a listen:

it's like those people who love really bad and cheesy movies because they're really really bad. it's hipster mentality. they will think something new is bad but they won't like it because it's not "cool" to like it.
i think the same thing is going on here.
I love 80's music and I love most of these 80's videos as well, I grew up in the 80's and this was the video age and when MTV really kicked off. There was nothing cheesy about a lot of these videos at the time, as artists were exploring a new media form to advertise their sound and image and show just how artistic they can be. Its only over the last decade or so, that people look back in hindsight and say how cheesy these videos are. In the next 20 years or so, there is a chance that people will be looking back and saying how cheesy today's videos are as well.

The actual point of this thread, is that some people are nostalgic with their music and this is a chance to revisit their musical past.

B-movies are great, because as said they are unintentionally funny to watch and enjoy.

More of an honorable mention than anything, no doubt a lot of the previous vids are cheesier and more 80's, but these are the ones I think of for 80's vids

random household objects exploding/breaking, smoke everywhere, and of course poodle hair in the extreme. Also the little head movement the bassist makes @2:06, good for a laugh every time.

More smoke and poodle hair.
