I've noticed that most people outside the UK think of Dexys Midnight Runners as a one hit wonder band because of that Come On Eileen crap.
Which is a shame because this song got to No. 1 in the UK charts the year before and shows them in a much better light.

And from the same era The Human League released this song just after Don't You Want Me Baby got to No1 in the charts. This song got to No 46, despite that I've always liked this one more.

One last one, Adam & The Ants re-released one of their old songs right in the middle of his fame in the UK, it totally bombed in the charts. I actually thought at the time it was better than his newer material, found someone to copy his first album for me (Thanks Kevin wherever you are 30 years later) and thus got into post punk at the age of 7 :)

"Being Boiled" was recorded much earlier than "Don't You Want Me" when the guys from Heaven 17 were in them

it was rereleased after DYWM to try to hang on the coattails of its success

Yup. That was the other spot where it was released. Same deal as the Wayne's World soundtrack featuring another b-side from the same album (Sikamikaniko). Looking back it seems a little odd that two SNL movies that came out around the same time featured 2 different b-sides from the same group but none of their hit singles.

Pet Shop Boys - Always on my mind - YouTube

Weird, lengthy music video that I've never seen on TV. I've rarely heard the song on the radio. Clearly it was overshadowed by other hits from the album.
