Share your thoughts about music; help my Ph.D. Dissertation

The Sticky was very helpful, thanks. That could sound really horrible.
In case anyone is interested, I did successfully defend - thanks again to all who participated. I'm happy to say, too, that I included Music Banter - The Internet's Top Music Community as an example when referring to where I gathered data in my dissertation! By way of further update I am now a very happy faculty member at St. Bonaventure University in Western New York (about 90 minutes southeast of Buffalo)

Actually, I am extending my research with another music-related survey. Is it all right if I post it? It involves watching and evaluating a music video, and there will be a drawing for a $50 Amazon.com gift card. I would post it in the General Music section again.

That's excellent! I'm glad we could be a part of that. Would you be willing/able to share some of the results of your research with us so we can see how we contributed?

I'm currently in the process of writing the most important parts up for submission to an academic journal. The two most important contributions are that 1) people's social use of music is becoming more prominent, and more importantly... 2) they do this because they want to be more of an active participant -- forming a type of partnership with their favorite musical artists and even their favorite music. Of course there's quite a bit more depth to it, but that's the most important part in a nutshell.

I should add that my current survey is also music related but not specifically to the description I posted above.
