Interesting thread.

One of the most depressing for me is Slide Away by Michael Hutchence, probably because it feels like he is foreshadowing his death/suicide.

Depends on what type of depressing you want, O Willow Waly from the movie "the innocents" is a downer on the style and sound, whereas for me the story within Billy Talent-White Sparrows is pretty depressing.

Tim Buckley - Hallucinations

I think this is actually more emotive than anything his son ever did. I also maintain that Rufus Wainwright and Ari Hest had more emotionally devastating versions of "Hallelujah," but I digress.
I never found this song depressing! I always just found it beautiful. It brings back memories for me as well.

Now this is depressing! In an amazingly beautiful way.

I never found this song depressing either! It always made me feel something else, don't even have a word for the feeling though.

Really? There's just something about the bass and vocals specifically that just gives off this incredibly hopeless feeling to me.

It's more a feeling of...bewilderment, fascination, hopelessness even. But not in a bad way for me. Kind of like...a feeling of united human bewilderment with the strangeness of life or something like that, ignoring the lyrics of course that is always how it made me feel.

Three Days Grace - Pain. I just remember listening to it at a point in my life when I was depressed.
