Default Quality or quantity?

in regards to music and bands

which kinda person are you?

a person who knows alot of bands but don't focus on any specific one or a person who doesn't know alot of bands and focuses on the bands he already knows?

if you happen to be both plz pick the one that suits you the most

i myself tend to focus on the bands i already know
it's hard for me to really get into a new band, it doesn't happen often

idk what precisely i want from a band but i have to feel something that draws me in to them, i honestly don't care if other ppl think the band is genius

if i don't like it i don't see it

i'll give u a quick example

i gave 'Tame impala' a try because i saw alot of ppl praising the band but i didn't find it THAT special, i mean they sounded good but no big deal

on the flipside, a user here introduced me to this band 'Hammer no more fingers' and even though the band is less ambitious and more simple i liked it more

(BTW just like main question, this is a matter of taste not specifically what's better)
