IF You Could Be Any Rock Star

I'd have to say Radiohead's Thom Yorke. That would be such an interesting project. They are in demand, so the band members have money. Just doing what you want would be a great thing, which they're able to do, which many bands can't

Black Francis 04-26-2014 01:16 PM

Frank Black ofc

even though he is not in the limelight he consistently keeps putting out new cds with good music.
And if not making cds he is out on the streets playing his music with a guitar to whoever is willing to hear.

I don't think he wants to be a famous rockstar he just wants to make songs and be a musician and live off that, and that is exactly what i want.

This is hard! Do I pick Bob Mould or Johnny Marr for their guitar skills? Should I choose frontmen with lyrical chops like Mike Patton, Frank Black, or David Byrne? Artists who kick ass all around like Lou Reed or Prince? Maybe I should stay loyal to my gender and go with Exene Cervenka, Kim Deal, Kristen Hersh or Kathleen Hanna. Or maybe I should just calm down and stop geeking out all around lol.

Didn't Kurt Cobain once say that one of the hottest things he ever saw a woman do was the time he watched Kim Deal rub a piece of ham between her hands, then run her hands through her hair? I swear to dog I heard that somewhere.

Chris Martin

Hmm, maybe Dio. Dude was a metal god.

Two Spirit 04-26-2014 03:23 PM

Marilyn Manson. I love pushing boundaries as well as subversive music and fashion, so he's the easiest one for me to identify with.

Frownland 04-26-2014 04:54 PM

Wild Man Fischer.

James 04-26-2014 05:01 PM

Why would you be Thom Yorke or Black Francis? They're both geniuses but you wouldn't have their talent so you'd just be yourself in an old, really ugly body. I'd go for someone really attractive, popular and young. Maybe Bieber. Than I would use my vision and my work to preach to the masses and try to change the world while simultaneously getting a really perfect girlfriend.

GravitySlips 04-26-2014 05:04 PM

John Fahey.

I've no idea what being John Fahey would've been like, but I'd be curious to know.

Goofle 04-26-2014 05:05 PM

Dan Auerbach. Made some great music. Collaborated with greats. Does it all with his buddy. Maybe he has made some compromised lately, but it's not like he has been putting out "bad" music. Also must be absolutely loaded.

PhantomMartyr 04-26-2014 05:05 PM

Kurt Cobain minus the suicide.

You wouldn't be yourself merely wearing their body, you'd be that person. So you would have all their talents.

And Bieber isn't a rock star, he's a pop star. :p:

Why would you want to be them then? I don't get it.
He'll be a rock star when I get my hands on his body.

Black Francis 04-26-2014 05:20 PM

I think Frank Black is a handsome man. U_U

i agree, she added a special something to the band but honestly she does her best work with the Breeders and the amps, i think her talents were kinda wasted on the pixies but she thinks otherwise

You have to love what you do. Those two very much love what they do. I'm gonna bet they don't care what they look like, very much

Scarlett O'Hara 04-26-2014 09:40 PM

Dolores O'Riordan, always.

I hate f****** people that blow flutes, their pussies and f***.

Neapolitan 04-26-2014 11:45 PM

^ Mel should ban you for saying that :)

At a time in RnR history around the late 60s and well into the 70s it was a big thing, other flutists:
  • Chris Wood - Traffic
  • Peter Gabriel - Genesis
  • Alan Wilson - Canned Heat
  • Ray Thomas - The Moody Blues

Necromancer 04-26-2014 11:53 PM

Who asked you for your advice Mr moderator? Let me reinstate my comment, fuck off.

Neapolitan 04-27-2014 12:01 AM

I was just saying... but you should be careful what you say and whatnot because there is a mod that plays flute.

Necromancer 04-27-2014 12:04 AM

Oh... got to be Urban. Fuck him too.

Neapolitan 04-27-2014 12:08 AM

I really don't know if Urban plays an instrument. I don't recall him ever saying he played an instrument.

Necromancer 04-27-2014 12:11 AM

Who cares... what in gods name are you talking about Neo?

Neapolitan 04-27-2014 12:12 AM

You already forgot what you posted about flute players?

Necromancer 04-27-2014 12:13 AM

Well they suck!

Neapolitan 04-27-2014 12:18 AM

Well I dig the flute, it's kind of a mellow sounding instrument.

Necromancer 04-27-2014 12:21 AM

Me too actually, I was more or less degrading one of dumb ass Paul's remarks.

Neapolitan 04-27-2014 12:28 AM

I must have missed Paul's remark, the only thing I saw Paul do was post a pic of Ian Anderson.

Necromancer 04-27-2014 12:43 AM

Well you're kinda on the retard side as well... so... (two birds with one stone).

ladyislingering 04-27-2014 01:17 AM

If I could time travel and switch physical being with Marc Bolan circa 1972, I'd be all for it.

It would be a little shocking to be a dude for a day, but I'd be a beautiful dude, so it'd be so worth it.

GuD 04-27-2014 01:51 AM

We're not that complicated, won't take long.

Joey Ramone, for me.
