How long did it take for your current taste in music to evolve?

I just listened to Brian Wilson's Imagination for the first time in about a year. Way back in 2012, it was my favourite album, and pretty much the only thing I listened to. I fully expected to hate this somewhat cheesy pop music. But… I still love it every bit as much! It's not my favourite album anymore, but I'd still have to put it in my top ten. I am sad at how much his voice has deteriorated, though. He sounded weak, even in 1998.
