Fun story, but they were almost correct. It was The Beach Boys who ripped off Manson. Seriously. Dennis Wilson met Charles on a trip, who played a song for him, which he decided to take as his own.

Here's the original:

Here's the "cover":

I'm too lazy to cite my sources, but it's a pretty well known incident, so it shouldn't be hard to find if you want to look into it.

Yeah, Manson was pretty ticked off at Dennis Wilson. "Cease to exist, pretty girl." Wonder if that was forshadowing for the Tate murders.

My dad (and his cousin) always insist that Yes (the band) is pronounced 'Yeeees' and corrects anyone who says differently, but I haven't been able to find anything to suggest this is true. Makes me think some record store clerk played a joke on them in the 70s or something, or maybe they heard it from someone with really **** english pronounciation.
Any progheads willing to shed some light on this?

A local lunatic once told me that in order to record his modern day hit 'Duquesne Whistle', Bob Dylan dug up the grave of, and stole the voice of Louis Armstrong. He swallowed it down and changed his voice forever.

Don't know if this is true? Any ideas?

I worked with a guy who insisted the Metallica Black Album was from the late 90s. Then I showed him the wiki one day and he turned into a babbling idiot.
