Not bad but must try harder.
It's better than pottery though.

I don't rate albums: I judge almost everything on a song-by-song basis.....

The only exception to this rule is concept albums, as these albums are - by design - intended to be listened to in their entirety and must be judged as a collective

With that said, my rating scale is:

"I Like It"
"Its OK"
"I Don't Like It"

Pottery gets a bad rap. I'm in the minority when I say it's pretty great. Not as good as poetry though.

This is my approach as well. I forgot to mention that earlier.

I don't rate albums either and it doesn't really make sense to me either since a bag song in an album could dilute the overall quality.

I'm funny that way; I really can't rate a song. I mean, I can tell you if I like it, but there's just not enough to work with for me.

The polar opposites boggle my mind. I can imagine how someone can be that way (maybe) but I can't rationalize it.

1. Blows
2. Some redeeming qualities.
3. I enjoy if it comes on.
4. Great song!
5. I WILL KILL YOU if you take it away from me.

I kind of arbitrarily do it when I do ratings. I guess I'm with you guys on not really rating albums. On RYM, even though I don't visit it a lot, my 5* albums have a lot of variety in quality but I still consider them to be worthy of 5 stars since I consider them great.
