Have you ever actually seen a vintage carriage? They're beautiful.
They are. I was also thinking about the poop-problem.

I can see where you're coming from now. Sort of the way it is with cassette tapes, which is something I will never understand, and it's somehow becoming popular again.

There's "hipsters" and then there's people who actually appreciate the full vinyl package.

"Hipsters" are the people that buy Crosleys and don't actually inspect their records before they buy them so they don't destroy their needles on worn vinyl.

Collectors care about their collection and what they have in it.

My main source of music is MP3 but I've been up vinyl for the last 6 or so months but only album that I really really like, or feel nessesary to have in that form.

The tape thing puzzles me as well.
At least vinyl looks beautiful with its bigger covers and all that.
But tapes?
And they have some longevity issues as well, as far as I know.

People can listen to music on whatever format they want -- why should you really care?
Whether vinyl comes back or not, digital is here to stay. It's not like you'll be forced to listen to vinyl if you don't want to.

Yeah can someone explain to me why people want cassettes exactly?

You come off as a bit uptight when honestly it's just a discussion, and an interesting one. You gotta ease up a bit man.

I was just curious to see, whether people would get all defensive reacting to a post which actually neither berated vinyl, nor its collectors.

I do somewhat care, since a lot of great music comes out as vinyl-only nowadays, but although it's a little inconvenient for me, that's obviously something for the artists to decide, so I don't get worked up too much about that.

I'm personally a big fan of collecting vinyl for 2 reasons.

1: If I like the artist enough, I'll happily support them with my money.
2: I love the art, the style of vinyl, and just the enjoyment of putting on a record.
