Default Grateful Dead LAST SHOWS?!?!

Hey guys!

I sent in the money to see the last show the Grateful Dead will play. It is at Soldiers Field in Chicago, IL. They only have 3 dates. (I'm lucky to live by there.)

Who else is going? Just thought I would talk about it!

Lots of people I know are going. Me... nah. I saw them in the 90's. What a scene that was though. People were still camped out at surrounding places for weeks after they left, and the village they played in banned them for life because of the incredible mess the Heads left behind. I hope Emmanuel knows just what he's gotten Chicago into by allowing this. I'm staying as far away as possible.

Don't feel too bad. I occasionally post on a couple of other sites that have a few dozen Deadheads between them, and it seems like everyone who sent in a mail order was rejected. I think they were just overwhelmed by the response and didn't plan for that possibility. There's always the upcoming online Ticketmaster sale to try your luck on.

Gutted that its only in Chicago. I'm sure there will be some amazing accompaniment. I know Branford Marsalis will most likely perform. Really Wish they would make some Cali dates, especially when you consider the origin of the Dead.

I'm wondering why they chose Chicago over somewhere in let's say... Colorado or Washington. A real head scratcher.

Says on the website its the middle of The US essentially so its a great meeting point for all the Dead Heads. I figured they would most certainly play the San Francisco area, really surprising.

I had a feeling that was a factor. Who knows, maybe Rahm is a closet deadhead too.
