Default New Wave??

There's a youtube video called
Photography Then & Now - 90s vs Now
by DigitalRevTV

What would you call the genre of the background music played during the 90s videos? Don't need a song just what is the genre so I can find music like it. Thank you.

I can't believe how many people come here asking questions about music just like that stuff.

Background electronic music is not really a genre, anymore than Musak is a genre. It's just background music.

3:50 you are telling me that that is just background music and doesn't have a particular sound to it? Okay dude.

It doesn't really sound like new wave, though there's certainly a new wave influence. It reminds more of newer synth pop like Crystal Castles or electroclash like Ladytron.

Thank you for the recommendations. Reminds me of Giorgio Moroder but not quite. Thank you

On the other hand, musak does make some pretty experimental and twisted samples
