Not sure why my list is strange although if I made it again it would probably be different. I will Dare should have been on my list! But Answering machine should have been on yours...

Well there are very few bad songs in their whole discography so I guess just about any combination is fine, I've just never considered some of those among their most memorable tracks is all!

Pet_Sounds 04-15-2015 03:38 PM

Not doing Beatles, because that would give away the results of my countdown.

Simon and Garfunkel
  • America
  • My Little Town
  • The Only Living Boy in New York
  • Mrs. Robinson
  • Kathy's Song

Billy Joel
  • Vienna
  • Say Goodbye to Hollywood
  • Scenes From an Italian Restaurant
  • You May Be Right
  • Only the Good Die Young

And I'll throw in a band I don't really like, the Stones.
  • She's a Rainbow
  • (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
  • As Tears Go By
  • Jumpin' Jack Flash
  • Let's Spend the Night Together

I'd be interested to see your Bowie list.

The original version from Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. would probably make my top ten.

My Bowie list ch-ch-changes a lot, but I keep coming back to "Changes", "Life on Mars?", "Young Americans", "Starman", and of course "Space Oddity"--all big hits.

If I'm going more obscure/underrated, it would be "Oh! You Pretty Things", "Five Years", "Diamond Dogs" (it's a hit, but still underrated), "Soul Love", and "Sound and Vision".

Josef K 04-15-2015 08:56 PM

- On GP
- Up My Sleeves
- Beware
- NO LOVE

Not a band but whatever Earl Sweatshirt:

It's revisionist history, but I'll take it.

My first song ever was Iron Man, but I faked it.

I tinkered with a few notes here and there, tried tuning it to what I thought sounded good, and after a few weeks of screwing around, finally hit on something tangible. I could play the bass notes to Iron Man on the low E string, so why not tune the guitar to an open E? Thats exactly what I did. Now I could play the chords to Iron Man with one finger stretched across the fretboard. Just the first verse, after that I was lost.
