Right on, that happened to me once with April Wine. I went for the popcorn, but I got the wine.

Billy Idol w/ The Scorpions 1980 at Anaheim Stadium. Was ten years old. Strange pairing but the concert was really good. Idol even played some Generation X songs which I was hoping for. I had all of Generation X on vinyl.

To earn the free tickets you had to do a thirty second drum solo, which he did. He was told he came in second, the top prize was back stage passes. So we missed out meeting them backstage . You should see this:

My first was Bon Jovi/Scorpions in 1983. We stayed in the parking lot until Jon and Co were done. I felt like a salmon in a stream of estrogen on the way in. So many hotties. We had terrible seats at the venue which became known for terrible sound, the Rosemont Horizon (now called the Allstate Arena). I couldn't tell you if they were any good or not since everything was washed out and garbled.

U2: March 1985 in a hockey arena (Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens).

I sat high and to the left of the stage (kinda like a first balcony); first row, unobstructed view.
The boys ended the show by stopping to play and leaving the stage one at a time...I thought it was such a cool way to conclude the evening.
