We have incredible threads with years and years of rich history spanning over 10,000 posts throughout this board, and this is the conclusion you've drawn?

ok

And yet, here we are, sitting in this thread, talking about nothing

Yeah everybody's busy posting in here instead of Albums You're Digging, What are you listening to, Last album you bought, downloaded......those threads haven't been updated in weeks. Truly sad.

We have wildly different perceptions of what we consider incredible, I suppose.

What I said was a commentary on the fact that we get a lot of threads like this one. It wasn't really a comment on the state or quality of the board as a whole. That seems to be the direction you are taking it in. I want to assure you that it wasn't the direction I intended -- our opposing perceptions at work once again.

Even so, those threads that have been around for years are still posted in very actively. Even if silly topics like this never came about we'd have more than enough worthwhile discussion going on. At least here in General Music, anyway.

And I called them "incredible" because of how enormous those topics have become. There is SO MUCH content in those threads, I have often clicked back to a random page from like 3 years ago with the intent of finding some new music to check out.

If this board only consisted of strictly music related posts, i would've left a long time ago.

All I meant was a huge amount of the new threads are bull**** ones like this.

Idk it's difficult for me to enjoy those endless daily update threads because they are so open ended and I personally have a somewhat narrow scope on music I actively enjoy. That's why I prefer like innerspaceboy's journal for example because I know if I go into it I'll find something I like because I have a huge hardon for ambient music. Going into the other threads, for all I know it could be a 10 page long classic rock circlejerk. I guess if you have super open ended tastes it's perfect but I don't so for me it's mehhhh.
