You bring up a good point... At the same time, I'm not listening to an album of 31 tracks no matter how short it is. That's gonna have to go. Completely. Sorry.

Nah, I've changed the format already and I'm comfortable with it now. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Quiet you. Don't you have an election to rig?

I get offended by being told I'll be offended just for questioning something as small as album length.

In fairness though, yeah, some albums with longer songs don't run as long as you might think. Let me look at Husker Du: yeah, see, over an hour. Elliott Smith as you say 52 mins so not as bad but for my own sanity I'm going to place the cutoff point at 50 mins. I think that's a reasonable time I can work with right now. Note that this is only until after October; I'll be a lot freer then but at the moment I've just too much to do.

So: no albums, double or single, that have over twelve tracks and/or run over 50 mins, just for now. The list will be readjusted later when I get time. For now though, here is a track review...

Are you trying to come up with reasons not to listen to Smith?

It seems so...

Troll I promise that Smith is a really great artist, and his music seems like something that would most likely be up your alley.

As part of our campaign platform, we should start our own "Love or Hate?" ripoff thread. Then we can criticize the way TH runs his, and he can't just tell us to go do it ourselves. Cause we'll already be doing it better.

I believe the troll demographic would really respond to that.

Title: Flight of the killer plankton
Artiste: Plankton
Genre: Rock
Taken from: The Dream
Familiarity: I know most of Plankton's stuff, and love it
Suggested by: Plankton

Expectations: Nothing less than perfect will do. I do not expect to be disappointed.

Nice sort of ambient feel, kind of almost like someone blowing on a glass, you know that kind of thing? Tappy little percussion with sort of oriental tones (bells?) and now here comes the guitar we all know and love. Punching out like a killer octopus fighting for its survival against a giant hammerhead (note: contact SyFy Channel with idea for monster movie), and now falling to some choral vocal synth with squidgy kind of effects before the guitar comes back in, some fine shredding.

Conclusion: Not as heavy as I like Plankton's music to be; sort of electronic in places, but still a cut above the rest always.

So, Love or Hate? You need to ask? This is a Love all day long.

Possibility of looking into the album: 100%

No. I am too busy and I have heard him before so I'm not expecting any great conversion. Truth to tell, I actually would like to hear Husker Du, to see what all the fuss is about, but I'm on a really tight schedule here.

Heard him before, remember? Was not that impressed.

I believe you tried this (as did others) already. You lost interest fairly quickly after a brief but entertaining attempt. But by all means, rip me off if you want. Just remember that, unless you do it properly, you're not addressing the "if it's so easy you do it" part, cos anyone can mock someone but I actually put the work in here. So whatever, you know?

Sweet. Plank's the real deal.

Did you hear Figure 8? XO is quite a bit different stylistically.

Single tracks list has now been fully updated. Still working on the albums one. Grindy, sorry but I don't know what you go by musically so I've just left it as your username. If you use another name let me know and I'll change it accordingly.

Don't think I'm not going to listen to it. I will, and Husker Du too. But right now I am too busy for albums with 16 tracks, never mind how long they are. I'll get to it, but not till I can put aside the time.
