I've found some really cool artists that I wouldn't have otwrwise known about, but for the most part it's too soon to say. If anything, I've een influenced to try to listen to more stuff than I have know, due to everyone knowing tons of music here, so I feel like I should get to it.

Ughhh I think mb has helped me discover new music which I thank y'all for helping me do that

But since I listen to every type of music I think my taste were going that way regardless since I was, like 19, it was going that way

Well, specifically I remember you were the person who introduced me to Tank—and I really ended up loving them. But also you've been a part of a lot of metal conversations that got me to check out a lot of different bands. It's hard for me to remember which suggestions came from who exactly in a lot of cases, but I know know a decent percent of the time it was you.

I discover/have discovered about 75% of what I listen to on MB.

MB hasn't influenced me in anyway at all, its always been a metal forum really and metals pretty much dead and so is this forum. The majority of posters on this forum are well below average intelligence and probably have some learning difficulties, I only come here to point and laugh at the backwards bastards.

Probably for the worse.

I think virtually everyone who has been a regular member here during the nine years I've been here has posted something I've at least checked out, if not fallen in love with. Some names of people who've introduced me to the most artists over the years or changed the way I look at artists I already knew: Jackhammer, Urban, Molecules, bob, mr dave, Engine, Sidewinder, Loathsome Pete, Mojo, Exo, Goofle, Satchmo, Frownland, Batlord, Unknown Soldier, Bastard of Young, Grindy, Trollheart, Demonoid, Rostasi, Merkaba, dankrsta, Pedestrian, Lisnaholic, adidasss, 4ZZZ and Mondo Bungle. No doubt I'm forgetting people as well, so I apologize to them in advance.

^ I'm also very proud to be included in your list - thanks. Your final sentence about forgetting and apologizing applies to my list as well:

Thanks to MB I've discovered a slew of new artists, but pretty much in the same genres I already liked pre-MB. That I specifically remember and would like to thank:-

> tore and all members of the PFAC for motivating me to explore Can, Dun and Genesis
> stephen, frownland and all members of the FAIR club for various recs (special mention to cenotaph/JackPat for Big Blood and David Thomas Broughton)
> Loathesome Pete for his dark country thread
> Pedestrian and all members of the General Music Album Club for GSY!BE
> Inveterate album reviewers like Trollheart, Anteater, Unknown Soldier and Cellar Tapes; not so much for recommendations that I've pursued, but for giving me an insight into albums that I've wondered about.
> Rostasi and grindy for Dollar Brand, Alec K Redfearn and others
> Plankton and Xurtio for giving me access to their own original music (:thumb:)

Slightly off topic but to me just as important are the members who have shared or rekindled my enthusiasm for various styles/musicians/albums:

blastingas10, chives, Pet_Sounds, Janszoon, PoorOlPo, Neapolitan, misspoptart, Mr.Charlie and Chula Vista are the guys who spring to mind offhand.

The fact that I can come here and find something new to listen to every time (and probably enjoy) makes this place the best music resource I have ever found. It's a shame it's not more active and more people don't Dubtrack. I wouldn't say it has influenced my taste too much as I have always been open-minded about most genres, but it has definitely been enlightening.
