How has MB influenced your taste?

There might have already been a similar thread at some point, but I don't remember anything like that recently and it's hard to do a proper search for it.

As the title says:
How has being a member here influenced your taste?
Have you started listening to genres and artists you never thought you'd like?
Or did you pretty much stick to the stuff you liked when you came here, perhaps only finding a few artists very similar to the ones you already enjoyed?

Spoiler for mb influence:

MB as a whole has definitely served and helped to broaden my taste into areas I would never have expected to venture into. Most of the credit for that must go to Batty and probably Frownland, who despite laughing at my taste has managed to have me sample, if not actually always (or ever almost) like the music he listens to. Batty has worked the hardest, trying to educate me to the finer details of metal, as well as a few other things, and with the launching of Metal Month three years ago I managed to branch out a whole lot more than I had expected or really intended to.

Recommendations, though, from people in the "Love or Hate?" thread have really opened my eyes to new artistes for me, and shown me there is value in music on which I would previously have placed none. Janszoon too must be congratulated for helping me get past death growls and allowing me therefore to enjoy some amazing music I would otherwise have missed. There have been a lot of people here who have influenced/helped broaden my taste, and though it's still what a lot of you would probably consider mainstream (or pussy) it's wider than it was before I joined here four years ago, so thanks to you all.

Hell yeah, this place influenced my taste a lot. I think virtually everyone who has been a regular member here during the nine years I've been here has posted something I've at least checked out, if not fallen in love with. Some names of people who've introduced me to the most artists over the years or changed the way I look at artists I already knew: Jackhammer, Urban, Molecules, bob, mr dave, Engine, Sidewinder, Loathsome Pete, Mojo, Exo, Goofle, Satchmo, Frownland, Batlord, Unknown Soldier, Bastard of Young, Grindy, Trollheart, Demonoid, Rostasi, Merkaba, dankrsta, Pedestrian, Lisnaholic, adidasss, 4ZZZ and Mondo Bungle. No doubt I'm forgetting people as well, so I apologize to them in advance.

If it weren't for MB, I probably wouldn't have gotten into hip hop. Also, rostasi is the man and has introduced me to loads of great experimental music. Shame he doesn't post anymore.

Hell no

At this point I think it's very hard to say what my tastes would have been like if I had never joined MB. There are dozens or even probably hundreds of great albums I've heard from browsing this forum but I don't know if entire genres that I enjoy are solely because of this place.

I'm honoured to be included in that august list. :)

Really glad you guys helped me to rekindle my love for metal. I used to snobbishly look down on it, despite having been a fan when I was younger.
There has been a lot of amazing BM I have found here, as well as some great thrash, a genre I never thought I'd enjoy.
Perhaps the best find I made through MB are The Stooges. I've heard them several times over the years and never really understood what all the fuss was about. Then there was a big discussion about them some time ago, I gave them a good, hard listen and they've been among the bands I listen to most often ever since.
