I've discovered a lot of music here. I'm not sure it's altered my taste but I've learned a ton.

The Chasm
Death Grips
John Zorn
Midlake
Panzerballet
Prong
Sigur Ros
Snarky Puppy
Sufjan Stevens

All in constant rotation because of this place.

Thank you!

^Nice. Wouldn't have expected Zorn and Death Grips there.
Which of Zorn's bands/projects/albums do you dig?

Chula Vista 01-09-2016 02:35 PM

I have Pellucidar - A Dreamers Fantabular.

Checked out a lot but found nothing new I liked so far. In my defence, I've only been here for barely half a year. Maybe this board will turn me on to some progressive rock that isn't really silly and weak (it must exist!). I'm looking forward to actually being inspired eventually :D

Since there are around 1000 albums Zorn has been involved with, I'm gonna refrain from getting into a reccing frenzy. I'd never stop.
But if you like The Dreamers, you should check out the Masada album they did.
It's called "Ipos: Book Of Angels Volume 14". Probably their best.

Also check out some Bar Kokhba (featuring Marc Ribot on guitar as well):

Have you tried asking in the prog rock recommendation thread? We might be able to help you.
