That's not what I meant. I meant having mixed amounts of votes would get confusing for me. This isn't the first time I hosted a voting game online.

You guys knew the amount and I told you freak we should choose a more popular genre. So why are you now telling me I should change the rule?

Jguy look here:
  1. Venom
  2. Bathory
  3. Mercyful Fate
  4. Celtic Frost
Pale turquoise FTW.

Again, that's not what I meant. I can see the votes just fine. I already have a system that I'm goingnto keep as simple as possible.

A: It's easy for me and is simple.
B: it allows more votes so that we get a large number of votes and it's easier to determine the highest rated acts. This is to avoid having various groups with the same low number of votes.
C: The set amount of votes give users a chance to listen to more albums and discover new music. I played Darkspace today to prepare for the black metal, for example.

I'm sorry, but I'm not changing the rule. If you'd like more time to prepare, I can stretch the round a couple days.

I wasn't changing any rules. Just pointing out ways you can more easily find the votes.

Again this is not an attempt to change any rules you laid down in the beginning of this fine thread of yours. But I was thinking there should be a "Big Four Bands Thread" proper, and then another thread like "Big Four Bands - Complaint Department & Commentary Section Thread." The first would be for voting purposes only, and the second would be an appendix thread, for complaining about the genres being selected for the week, corrections for any bands nominated that do not actually fall under the umbrella of the topical genre picked for the given week, and any rebuttals to such corrections being made. Plus any other general commentary. Because the way things are going this is 10% "Big Four Bands Thread" proper, and 90% "Big Four Bands - Complaint Department & Commentary Section Thread."

Well I'm going to have to brush up on Freak Folk when I get home before I even decide a top 4. New genre for me.

I thought about something similar concerning elligible bands.

How about: any band or any band who's released an album labelled as the current genre on Discogs, Allmusic, Rateyourmusic (secondary genres count), and Last.fm are elligible.

This is only a proposal for now. I'll only go with it if people accept this. I like your idea of a complaint department, but I'm not sure I will make it yet. I'll have to go over the pros and cons.

^ He certainly fits the category, elphenor, but there are plenty of other artists too:-
