Just curious, how different are your guys' lists from your choices for a general jazz list?

That's exactly why I'm avoiding subgenres for my vote. But for including them, they'd probably be Coltrane, Seatbelts, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock.

My Big 4 of Jazz for be would replace Seatbelt sand Shorter with Miles Davis and Hayden Who. Actually, forget Herbie. I tink he's much more suitable for a big four of jazz-fusion.

Eric Dolphy and Sun Ra would be the first two on my jazz list.

Re bebop, I think I'd have to go with:

Bird
Mingus
Monk
Trane

I'm actually more of a Miles fan than I am a Bird or Trane fan, but in Miles' case, that's more because of his work outside of bebop (even though I love his bop stuff, too).

Actually, given the question, I probably should have posted to something like this:

But I have an unusual love for "Billie's Bounce".

Now would be a good time for some people to listen to some delta blues to prepare for the next round. What comes after delta blues? I'd really like to get ambient in. Not sure why.
