Ask about a genre

Just name a genre you want to know more about.

I was going to review Jesus Loves You and I saw in the genres it said American Pimitivism. What is American Pimitivism?

The Batlord 09-28-2016 02:00 PM

Disney pop

Oh. No. Lol. I thought yours was in reply to me. Nah, we can do any genre.

Disney pop. I'd say that's just pop music performed by Disney stars. You know, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, and so on.

Finger picking guitar music that uses folk, experimental, blues, and neoclassical inspirations. See: John Fahey, Sir Richard Bishop, and Robbie Basho. I use it as a doorway to ragas.

Thelonious Monkey 09-28-2016 02:17 PM

What's a rock and what's a metal?

Doesn't sound like you really did any research.

I got the answer I was looking for. Which was the whole reason I started it. So I'd say it is.

Avant-Folk played by means of Piedmont Blues style fingerpicking.

Disney Pop, a sub-genre of Teen Pop, started as it's own genre in the late 90's by way of the plethora of Disney Channel original movies that would contain such tracks in their runtime. The sound is typified by influence of the stereotypical 2000's pop sound (i.e. Britney Spears and the like), Boy Band, Contemporary R&B, Pop Rock, Pop Rap, and the squeaky clean, upbeat CCM genre.

The sound throughout the years has not changed drastically, but has grown to include influences such as Snap, Country Pop, and, rarely, Post-Grunge.

Influential artists exemplifying the sound include The Cheetah Girls, Hannah Montana, R5, and The Jonas Brothers.

Had no citation so I wouldn't trust that at all.

Freak folk can range from a calm and/or playful sound to it, to a dark and/or aggressive one. The genre is also known well for its vocal styles, often being very intense, abstract and expressive in nature. It's also not uncommon for freak folk bands to incorporate tribal percussive instruments into the mix, such as bongos, congas, or taos drums.

Here's some of the **** I've learned over the years: keep looking at your minimap, always be building something, keep looking at your resource counter (you don't want to waste time when you could be building units/structures/etc just because you didn't know you could), and learn to play with both hands. Yes you can just use the mouse, but you will save a lot of time and reaction speed by learning the keyboard commands.

Oh and go play a better game. I remember C&C3 being fine, but go get StarCraft 1 for $20 off Battle.Net. I'd say get one of the better Command and Conquer games but they're all on the same ****ty collection that doesn't even ****ing work.

Well im short on money as I bought a bunch of **** (Bayonetta, dmc hd collection, devil may cry 4, ninja gaiden sigma 1 and 2) and I could easily obtain c&c through.. certain methods and heard its beginner friendly so I picked it. I can't do this with starcraft cause it's not on that place.

Also, Man those fmv's are cheesy.

You should see the Red Alert games. Same company, same universe (supposedly), same cut scenes, and it's far more over-the-top. Which makes sense, since they're about a world in which Albert Einstein went back in time, killed Hitler, and so the Soviets were allowed to become even more powerful.
