lesser known band but have to totally bring them up as I own every album and adore them.
Gothic rock/synth band The Birthday Massacre. Originate from Canada, been at work since the early 2000s. Their new album "Under Your Spell" comes out June 9th (actually already out for those who use itunes) and I think it may compete for my favorite album in heart. I didn't think they'd beat Pins and Needles! |

Every time they drop an album I'm worried that they're going to become The Foo Fighters. Liked that clip in the announcement though.

Totally reminded me of Gunman from Them Crooked Vultures. Even if the new album is a bunch funky robot dance numbers, there is still an underlying darkness and sinister nature to QOTSA across all their albums and you can pick it up just in this one clip. And for me, that still keeps them very much separated from the Foos.
