Feb 3. - recos continued... I really don't wanna do my school work.

Poison The Well - Opposite of December (1999)
From Batlord: Okay, I was wrong I know this band. I immediately knew songs 4/5, Slice Paper Wrists and Nerdy, respectively. And yes, this was more my "style" I guess when I think metal core. I do enjoy the softer elements they include compared to the straight up go go go of Arkangel. Not that one is better than the other, it's just easier for me to be in the mood for when there is a nice mix.

Cromagnon - Orgasm (1969)
From Electrophonic Tonic: I ACTUALLY enjoyed the first 4 minutes of this album. The noise level was tolerable, the bag pipes were cool, and there was singing. Then it faded into a dude making noise and yelling.. I skipped ahead very slowly trying to find the start of a new song, which appeared around the 22 minute mark only to find it wasn't actually a song but more noise. I skimmed the rest of the album and couldn't find a single instance that even resembled what I heard in the opening track. Needless to say I would recommend this to no one and the opening track is a total dick tease that is not at all representative of what you can expect from the rest of the album.

Will do. I've actually been enjoying this thread quite a bit, and there are def some members here that I know listen to things I'm interested in exploring, but haven't gotten around to yet.

I'm thinking maybe I'll reach out to some people and have a couple days based on artists they suggest (when I'm in the mood). I don't have the time or energy to put into something like that now with school and everything..

anyway, back to the regularly scheduled program for now.

I mean, if you listen to any one song on this album it'd be a dick tease for the other songs since they all sound so different from each other. I get that it's seriously inaccessible though and Caledonia is the best song they've ever done (and arguably the first metal song).

Do let me know if you want any recs for unlistenable nonsense.

Feb. 4

Goldmund - Corduroy Road (2005)
I've been getting into mellow piano tracks, and that's exactly what this album offers. It's something nice and serene to put on while I focus on my school work and clean my room. If you need a moment to breathe check this out.

Blaudzun - Promises of No Man's Land (2014)
Pretty good indie-pop. I'd listen to it again. My one complaint is that some of the tracks did sound a lot alike, which gets old quick.

I've heard of No-Pretense from the only Devilz Nite mixtape that was cohesive, the last one in 2012. They had one of the better songs from it.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.
