Sorry if this has been done before. But never the less, fire away.

I hate Papa Roach but i like Last Resort.

And I HATE Limp Bizkit but i like their version of the mission imposible theme song.

riseagainstrocks 08-08-2005 05:32 PM

^ amen to both of those.

well only part of the Limp Bizkit song.

Merkaba 08-08-2005 07:58 PM

Maybe if Fred Durst didnt sing, because the tune just kicks arse.

The End of the World as we Know it/Orange Crush - REM

Aww, I was hoping my R.E.M. was exempt from hate :(

Why this?

SATCHMO 07-18-2009 09:57 PM

I think this is like 1 of 5 "songs you love by bands you hate" threads on the forum. Plus consider that the thread is less than 2 hours old.

Am I not allowed to hate the whiney wannabe Bohemian musings of Michael Stipe. I live to hate REM.

Alfred 07-18-2009 10:06 PM

"The Carpal Tunnel Of Love" by Fall Out Boy is a wonderful song.

gunnels 07-18-2009 10:08 PM

In the Aeroplane over the Sea- Neutral Milk Hotel.

Well, I've been putting myself through this album alot lately and each time it gets just a little bit better. Some tracks (oh comely, two headed boy pt. 2, King of Carrot flowers pts. 2-3) are still very hard to get through though.

But...but... he writes songs about two headed cows and power line floaters. And Losing My Religion clocks in as a better stalker song than any other.

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-18-2009 10:22 PM

Everything else i've heard by them is rubbish.

It's just his voice. I can't handle it. He puts forth a very self absorbed "artsier than thou" Persona as well. And if you were 21 when Losing my Religion was at maximum rotation in the general media like I was you might not like it so much either. It's ok. I have a laundry list of great bands I can't stand because their frontmen get on my nerves.

Rickenbacker 07-18-2009 10:27 PM

It's an acquired taste... I guess. I always thought they were just a likable band. Huh.

To me they've always been a very pedestrian band. Definitely not unlikable, objectively speaking, but a tad bit on the *yawn* side.

Rickenbacker 07-18-2009 10:40 PM

I find their music emotionally evocative. I can dig it.

Say what you will, but Stipe writes good lyrics, Buck is an underrated guitarist, and Bill and Mike are a tight rhythm section. Now that Bill's a farmer, well, **** it.

I agree with everything you say here, which would make my opinion just that, my opinion.

The Unfan 07-18-2009 10:54 PM

This song rules...

the band does not.

I've always thought this too, exactly. But in the past few years I've taken a liking for a few of their albums.

I like this song a lot. I do not like No Doubt or Gwen Stefani otherwise.

My mistake. I searched the forums to make sure this thread wasn't already created before I posted this but didn't find one.

jackhammer 07-19-2009 07:28 AM

Don't we have a similar thread to this already?

The Unfan 07-19-2009 05:02 PM

If Green Day could capture this kind of energy consistantly they'd be a good band.

asshat 07-20-2009 12:02 AM

Goo Goo Dolls-long way down

U2 had a few decent songs too.

Yeah, well I didn't know a band fronted by a horrendously ugly Mancunian man who doesn't sing so much as ramble like an incoherent old bum and considers decapitating squirrels with hedge clippers to be one of his favorite hobbies was the pinnacle of taste either. :p:
