Least liked/most hated musician(s)

Maybe it's their music you hate, or something about them. Maybe you met them once and they wouldn't give you their autograph or turned their back on you while playing a gig (see the "Show Biz Kids" thread) Maybe you just don't like the look of them.

Oddly, I'm finding it really hard to think of one at the moment, but I'm sure some of you have ideas?

(No, killing me in the most brutal fashion possible and dumping my body in a shallow grave is not the kind of idea I was thinking of...)

He is not a typical musician. take it easy.

Janszoon 08-22-2017 07:50 AM

R. Kelly. His music is embarrassingly awful and he's a pretty disgusting person.k

As people it's tough because I don't actually know any of them.

Morrissey is up there but I warmed to him a bit after what he said after the Manchester Arena bombing.

Rick is actually a very cool guy. Have you seen this?

My vote goes to Axl Rose.

Frownland 08-22-2017 09:13 AM

That reminds me of how much I ****ing hate Dave Grohl. I've seen famous people at concerts that enjoyed the show without the need to jack themselves off with an article about how down to earth and totally normal they are despite being famous. Even without getting into the music I can't stand that fake mother****er.

Paul Smeenus 08-22-2017 09:45 AM

I've always loathes Jackson Brown.

Sim thoughts. And what article? I'd like to read that.

I mean, pretty much any article Consequence of Sound or Spin publishes about him is some faked up hype about he's so totally awesome bro.

If he was actually humble he wouldn't release a press release about how much of a really nice humble dude he is every single day.

Got a few examples or are you just being hyperbolic?

Genuinely not being hyperbolic. Dave Grohl has more marketing behind him than Kanye West.

As reported by the NME, Grohl was seen among the crowd on the concert floor at the Metallica show (seemingly forgoing any VIP treatment) and some selfie-taking concertgoers fired off a few snaps of the Foo Fighter enjoying the gig. Check out the photographic evidence below:

one of lots of reasons to love dave grohl: dave grohl standing in the crowd at a metallica concert, just like an ordinary dude.
It's almost as if Grohl wrote those articles himself. Definitely the schmaltziest/corniest frontman who for whatever reason tries to incorporate comedy into his act (or whatever he's going for) to where you just can't take him seriously as the propped up rock icon that the music industry wants him to be. I think it was the 20th Anniversay of Nirvana interview he did...where I remember listening to it and thinking "I just ain't buyin' this."

Chula Vista 08-22-2017 11:19 AM

Whatever. This is beyond cool.

In fact I don't want them to be stars and I don't want them to be boring enough to play "rock"

And yet you can't understand why I like Nazi punkers?

Actually Bono went into the crowd to give her a long hug cause he noticed her crying. I watched all day of Live Aid and it got emotional many times. So ya, that moment was pretty poignant. Same goes when Bowie started choking up during "we could be heroes".

I really couldn't care less tbh. The art and the artist are mutually exclusive, the art is all I care about. What's obnoxious about Grohl is that he makes himself the focus so that people can't recognize how dull and mediocre his music is.
