Sort of like Vashti Bunyan, crossed with some modern indie-singer/songwriter (a lot of such is very low key and soft-voiced, at least of what I've heard).
Not the sort of song that announces itself by barging down the door and making itself part of your life immediately.
I will need to hear this some more times to get a feel for it. Maybe I'll dive into the album.

I really like Vashti Bunyan, especially her singles from the sixties. I've only heard parts of Just Another Diamond Day but I will be giving that a listen fairly soon I hope.

Meanwhile, I pretty much still need to hear everything else than that album. I even think she did a new one several years ago, when she came back to the music scene.

Sine I did a whole bunch of songs all at once, I chose to only do the two tracks that you recommended specifically from this album:
Change in Time and In Another World. Maybe I will check out the whole thing at a later date.

Change in Time:
Ok first impressions are not too good, in that I'm admittedly not very into things that have that twee indie sound. But upon a closer listen, there really is some quite nice details in the music. There's some atmosphere to it, but I'm not entirely sold, especially not on the vocals.

In Another World:
This immediately sound more like my kind of thing. I'm not a fan of Radiohead, but somehow still pleased that it reminds me of them.
A bit further into the track, I'm thinking that I really love the bass guitar here. Some very cool, reverby instrumentation in some sections. It almost sounds creepy.
I no doubt enjoyed this song a lot more than the first track. I might come back to this album and see what other surprises it's hiding.

Sleep Party People is from Denmark. The sole member is Brian Batz. It's a one man band when recording, however when he plays live he has friends to help him out onstage. They have a gimmick of wearing bunny masks (imo they horribly made and creepy looking). The album cover goes along with that whole bunny motif.

This doesn't strike me as the sort of song I could usually make up my mind about in one listen. It's very laid back and not catchy as such.
My first, possibly unfair reaction, will have to be that I think I prefer A-ha when they're more shamelessly catchy and energetic. This starts feeling a bit like U2, in a way.

Sorry. Didn't leave much of a first impression.

Have you heard a-ha's debut album? It's one of my favorites, The Sun Always Shines On TV and I Dream Myself Alive, Blue Sky.

Wixel is a band from Brussels, Belgium. Originally started as a solo project of Wim Maesschalckout, but has added at least two other members. His goal is to "releases music dedicated to fall asleep to."

The Colour Green was home recordings of Sibyllie Baier. It was her son who passed the recording to J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. who had it passed on to a record label and it was released on CD. I went to through a phase of listening to Tonight, after when I came home from work.

Yeah, it's a great album from start to finish. It's a shame she didn't get a career going starting with that album.

Believe it or not, that's the first time I've heard them. They would get a lot of press when I was growing up but you never heard them on the radio. They're pretty impressive as it turns out. I wonder what Mic thinks.
