I wanted to be sure that all the votes were valid before plunking it in MB'S FAVOURITE REJECTS!!!

The median might be a more valid measure of the forum's vote, however. Our sample size is very small and the results for some albums suffer from outliers and negative skew. Or we can leave it because this is all just for fun anyways.

The benchmark at one time 8 then it was lowered to 7. That was done to allow more albums in. But that wouldn't have been necessary if we just look out how the members voted. I still think we should how the majority votes, and use the average for its ranking.

I think if we do that, it'll get really boring immediately.

By its nature, the project calls for people to recommend good albums. For the majority opinion to be overwhelmingly bad, someone would have to nominate something unfathomably crap, because our ratings already tend high as a group. I'm confident that under that system, everything nominated would get in.

FYI, I think Grotesque is their best album. I'd have given that one a 10.

It's your fault it didn't get in, if only you gave it a 9 it would had a 7.0 average. Now we have to wait for a member to vote a 9 before the poll closes.

Blue Hawk and Dude111 gave it only one star....so it's their fault.

I just checked the thread and Dude111 never commented, so his vote is actually void.

I guess that means it's in after all? Blank, settle this for us so we can move on in life.

If the mods eliminate his vote then the album would have a 7.222222222222222222222 ... average.

why is average >= 7 the cutoff. It should be average >= 7.5 IMO. For reference on RYM that would be an average score higher than 3.75. I think at least that most QA should be put in place.
