That's cool. I'm like that with certain artists too. James Taylor was someone I could never get into for example.

I actually have no idea who that is. I'm going to check out his music and get and idea if it's anything I'd be interested in.

You'd probably like him, especially his earlier material. His Sweet Baby James is considered a classic.

Maybe I should have said never thought of trawling the net for those. After all, this is the first time Nick-1000 has actually more or less recycled my words. it's not like he was doing it all the time. Well done, though: you exposed the cyber conspiracy, and may indeed have saved mankind.

I'm guessing our friend Nick isn't a sock puppet. He probably isn't a bot either, just someone who has too much time on his hands.

Then again maybe he just hates grunge.

Oh, and hi,everybody

You know Carole King's "You've Got a Friend"? He does a version of that which is pretty cool. "Fire and Rain" is another cracker. Also, this:

Hey, now that we know Nick-1000 is a bot, can we **** with his programming, make him love grunge instead of hating it? Or at least send him back to the future with a logic bomb inside him? ****ing future people, trying to change our appreciation of music!

Paraphrase what you wrote? Recycled your words? Nick1976 copy/paste a post that that is over seven years old which was written by buran2011 on the Steve Hoffmann Music Forum. Don't you get it? buran2011 beat you by seven years!

I've never been on the Steve Hoffman forum, so how am I supposed to know that? All I saw was that I responded to him and he recycled what I said in his response. Don't you get it?

Nick1976 copy/paste something that was written very close to seven years ago and you felt paraphrased. Sorry if I found that a bit funny.

I thought you would immediately understand what was going on after I provided a side by side comparison of the two posts, the one you thought he was paraphrasing you and the other originally posted on the Steve Hoffman Music Forum seven years ago by a buran2011. I didn't expect you to be on the Steve Hoffman Music Forum to know that, so I provided a hyperlink in that quote by buran2011.

What gave it away for me is the total unrelated conversation between you two. You made joke and Nick1976 seem totally unaffected by it. He quoted it but didn't comment on it. He didn't even cringe. So I thought to myself that is not humanly possible.

Sure I got it. I just don't see how you think I would have figured this out, given that I haven't been on that forum, search for or found or seen any of his posts under any aliases. It's a bit disingenuous to be laughing at my naivete, as you see it, when you have the information and I don't. You have the advantage of me on this one, I've admitted that. There's no need to keep going on about how I should have known. How could I?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Nick-1000 has been deactivated by now. The matrix reports no activity by him in the last day, so either his power pack ran out, or he ****ed off back to the future. Either way, good riddance.

OK first off I never once expected you to know that Nick was doing that, but I absolutely did let you know as soon as I found out. I provided side by side comparisons. I informed you with who the original posters were and also provided hyperlinks for reference. I went through this trouble to let you know what you're dealing with and after all that I got no thanks from you.

I am not laughing at your naivety, it's your persistence that you were paraphrased.

Really I am laughing at the whole ordeal, at myself and everyone else (all those other boards) for responding to him thinking that Nick1976 was a genuine article, a regular member having a unique conversation but really it's someone that is posting this stuff all over the internet under all kind of variations of his username. That he even posted the same post verbatim in both on MusicBanter and the UltimateHeavy forum and carries nearly the same discussion. Just the fact it's on redit, it's on Female First Forum (UK) ... it's everywhere.
