Although there's a lot of great stuff from the Boz Burrell era (especially some very powerful live recordings), the fact that he sucked at playing bass always bugged me.

I was under the impression that King Crimson was always comprised of very technically top-notch musicians.

In what way do you think this guy sucked as a bass player?

He's a dude you know on the internet. He must somehow remind you of your soon-to-be ex-wife or there's no way you'd be able to summon this amount of vitriol.

Well to be fair, Frownland puts breadcrumbs in his hamburger patties.

He might have been the only exception.
He joined the band as a singer. Since the intended bass player dropped out short-term, the other guys quickly taught him how to play bass. Considering that, he was good enough, but his limitations are very noticeable, especially compared to KC's other, ridiculously virtuosic bassists.

Proof they didn’t know any black people.

Well then I get why you'd say he's not good. They can't have kept him on bass duty for long - or at least I feel like it would be weird if they did, since it seems like a sort of patchwork solution to an unforeseen problem.
