More crap and overrated bands.
Coldplay are an English Alternative Rock band from the early 2000's. Their Biggest hits are Yellow, Viva La Vida,Fix You, The Scientist,Speed of Sound and heaps more extremely mediocre pop rock songs that we all have heard splattered all over the radio. They are still around and are just as popular as ever. This band is the biggest example of what happened to mainstream rock in the 2000's. They are pretty much U2 with a slightly better looking lead singer. Not hard considering how butt ugly Bono is. The band just keeps on churning out hit after hit but the songs are so bland, generic, boring, weak and forgettable just like the rest of the mainstream pop songs that make up the charts. That is the audience they are after, they don't give a **** who they're pleasing as long as they're in the charts. This bands Head Full of Dreams tour is the third highest selling tour of all time. The Foo Fighters are an alternative rock band from the 90's. We all know their hits Everlong, Monkey wrench, The Best of You, Learn to Fly, My Hero, The Pretender and heaps more boring alternative pop rock songs. Dave Grohl is a very good drummer and he's also a good guitarist and singer but this band is so boring, weak bland and boring that I just cannot even pretend to like them. The only song I like of them is Everlong and their cover of Baker Street. The rest of their discography is just absolutely boring and weak. They are played on the radio and on tv so much that it's unbelievable that they are the only popular rock band still even cared about in the mainstream so people give them allot of credit for that. All Foo Fighters need to do is put out a crappy album every few years and just expect to receive a grammy award in the mailbox. If this band had made an album full of songs that were just as good as Everlong I wouldn't be saying this about them at all. I would consider them a very good band but their most respected album the colour and the shape from 1997 has Everlong right next to the terrible hits Monkey Wrench and My Hero. Not very consistently good material. Amazing that the drummer of Nirvana went on to form one of the most popular modern rock bands of the modern times and that he was the singer and guitarist. All that doesn't make them an actually good band. Thanks for reading, plenty more to come. |
More like the Poo Fighters, amirite?
This thread is getting to me. I better quit while I can. |

More crappy overrated bands.
U2 are an Irish Post Punk and alternative rock band that started in the 80's. With huge hits like One, In the name of love, With or Without You, Beautiful Day,All I Want is You, Mysterious Ways,Vertigo, The Sweetest Thing and ****loads more. The band is still around and extremely popular even though they aren't chart toppers like they used to be in the 80's and 90's. Their 360 tour is the highest grossing tour of all time which goes to show how popular they still are. The Edge's reputation as a bad guitarist is as talked about now as much as ever. He clearly isn't holding the songs together with his guitar playing. If you listen to their songs especially with or without you you can clearly hear that the bass is the backing music for the entire song while The Edge just plucks on 2 notes repetitively which doesn't even add anything to the song. Sometimes The Edge's guitar playing does actually add something to the songs but even then he's really not doing much. You could say that even though U2's songs are not guitar heavy The Edge's light and simple playing compliments the bands sound on their songs. Without the delay effects and other pedals his playing would probably sound like ****. U2's songs are really not very strong. They are pretty bland and boring which is the main reason why it's so damn popular. The band are so rich that they just gave away their album Songs of Innocence for free as a free download in 2014.They knew they wouldn't make much money off of the sales anyway compared to what they'd make from touring. If the industry were healthier and file sharing wasn't as common as it is today they certainly wouldn't have done that. U2 even performed at the Grammy's in 2018 which goes to show that they are still somewhat relevant. This band is very overrated. I remember when Vertigo came out and I liked it. I certainly don't like it now that I've had a better musical education. If you search U2 on Google, under the People Also Search For heading the first band you see listed is Coldplay which makes the comparison of the similarities of the two bands that I made even more true. This band sucks but is really really damn rich and successful because they appeal to the casual listeners who can't even tell what is quality rock music or complete garbage. Train are an american pop rock band from the 90's. Their most popular hits are Drops of Jupiter and Hey Soul Sister. Not much to say about this band but I remember how long this band went without a hit single and then in 2009 they just appeared out of nowhere with the hit song Hey Soul Sister. That's the kind of crap you need to fart out of your ass and package and then release to make it on the charts these days if you're a band who actually plays instruments and sings. |
Maybe things are getting a bit stale because I'm running out of good things to criticize. Maybe I should start a new thread of Best and Most Underrated bands.

I'm also a fan of R.E.M and Pantera I also Like The Doors and Jimi Hendrix those are my two favourite 60's rock acts. Some more bands that I like are The Cranberries, Tonic, Urge Overkill, The Pixies. I even like pop solo artists Like Bryan Adams and Richard Marx. The Brian Jonestown Massacre or ok, I only like their album called Give It Back. The Dandy Warhols suck but I like their hit Bohemian Like You. I'm definitely selective of which bands i choose to listen to and I'm not easily impressed. I focus more on quality rather than quantity unlike some of my friends. I sure wouldn't listen to a crap barely metal band like Lacuna Coil and the version of Atout le monde Cristina Scabbia did with megadeth was ****ing worst than the original they shouldn't have bothered with it. I know it's random but that band just came to my mind. There's still plenty of bands to mention. |

Alright on the advice of Black Francis I'm gonna mention some bands that i think are good and underrated. To me the Garage Rock Revival in the early 2000's was a really good music scene that was happening at the time. With Bands like The Vines and the Hives and The Strokes coming out at the time. I really liked The Vines. Even though their sound was pretty limited I really dug their style when they first came out with the hit single Get Free. They only had success with Highly Evolved in the US and then their next album Winning Days was a failure which was really sad for them because everyone had hopes for The Vines that they were gonna be the next big rock band to take over the world. And then the media started harshly criticizing the band for not living up to their expectations. To me I think The Vines are pretty underrated. If rock was more popular at that point I'm sure that people would have been more interested in the vines. Craig Nicholls had the potential to be a big rockstar but he never reached that level of fame in the US or the rest of the world. The Vines continued to make albums after their fame dried up and the more albums they made the worst their music got but I still think their albums after Highly Evolved should have gotten more attention and success than they did.

I don't think you can just close a thread because it annoys you. Surely it needs to break a rule before that can happen? Anyway, I think some people are enjoying trolling Nathan back. I know I am.

A contradiction I noticed from myself in my post saying that I liked the Garage Rock Revival of the early 2000's. The White Stripes are considered part of that scene too but I still don't like them. So I don't like every band from that scene but I definitely like a few.

More Crappy and overrated artists.
Kid Rock is a ****ing idiot. This guy is such an untalented idiot I just don't know how the hell anyone ever cared about him. I knew he existed long before he did All Summer Long which is just sampling Sweet Home Alabama. This guy has no talent. Ben lee. Maybe you guys in the US don't know him but he's an Australian solo artist. He did this ****ing dumb song called Catch My Disease in 2005, it was played all over the ****ing radio. This is the **** garbage I was subjected to before I started getting into classic rock in my early teens. It just goes to show that radio has always been bad. The Used are an american alternative rock band I think they might be emo but I'm not sure. They did this song that was played on the radio called All That I've Got. They actually played that **** the label must have really bribed them well with prostitutes and cocaine to get them to play The Used on the radio. Anyway this band was managed by the same guy who managed Guns N' Roses and I remember this show where people were comparing The Used to Guns N' Roses and all these people were saying The Used is a better band than them. What a joke The Used are such a forgettable crappy band that nobody even cares about they have never done one song anywhere near as good as Guns N' Roses. 30 Seconds to Mars have been in the charts since the mid 2000's. We all know Jared Leto is a good actor and a good looking man too but him and his band suck. This band sucks so much it's ridiculous. Their sound has kept evolving to the times and getting less rock and more pop just to stand a chance of getting in the charts. Last year they released the hit song walk On Water, a song that doesn't even resemble rock in any way. That song is disposable garbage that will be forgotten very quickly pretty much like all the songs they have ever done. If I actually enjoyed this band's music I would be too ashamed to admit it. |
