Or a better attempt at an insulting one.

Insulting ones are easy, just choose the entire Limp Bizkit discography of five albums, and for the other five throw in some of those "Now That's What I Call Music" compilations.

As for a serious one, I can't really do much of one yet but I know there would be a Kate Bush album in there.

Ninetales did a pretty good insulting one because it had a grain of truth to it though.

And yeah, definitely Kate Bush. And the lady in my avatar pic as well.

For Mondo. Not any kind of definitive list, but stuff I think might keep him entertained on the island.
  • Infernal Coil—Within a World Forgotten
  • Sunlight’s Bane—The Blackest Volume (Like All the Earth Was Buried)

I'll have to listen to these now

I know it's top heavy with British artist, and the list should contain more artists from different countries. Probably the second worse thing to happen to a person besides being stuck on a deserted island is having someone pick albums for them. Bending the rules a wee bit with ten bands and eleven albums.

Lisnholic
  1. Pentangle ‎– The Pentangle (1968)
  2. Leo Kottke ‎– 6- and 12- String (1969)
  3. Steeleye Span ‎– Hark! The Village Wait (1970)
  4. Trees ‎– The Garden Of Jane Delawney (1970) & On The Shore (1970)
  5. Tea and symphony - Jo Sago (1970)
  6. Traffic ‎– The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys (1971)
  7. Skara Brae ‎– Skara Brae (1971) (Gaelic)
  8. Convivium ‎– Convivium (1971) (Norsk)
  9. Mellow Candle ‎– Swaddling Songs (1972)
  10. Michał Urbaniak ‎– Urbaniak (1979) (Polish Jazz)

^ Thank you very much for the albums, which would all be welcome on a desert island. I’m not familiar with Skara Brae or Michal Urbaniak, but I’ll check them out. Thanks. You chose some real favourites of mine although TBH, I’d probably like to squeeze in something a bit noisier too: Can or Beefheart perhaps.

While my desert island would have some fresh material, I’m afraid that my albums for your desert island are mainly albums that you’ve mentioned yourself on MB already. Anyway, I hope you still like them, and my apologies if I haven’t picked anything punk, which is another genre that I think you’re interested in too.

1. Fuschia – Self-titled album
2. The Front Bottoms – Talon of the Hawk
3. Orange Alabaster Mushroom – Space and Time
4. 3 Hur-El – Hurel Arsivi
5. Sarah Brightman – The songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber
6. 5th Dimension – Portrait
7. Eddie Harris – Swiss Movement
8. Ranking Roger – Radical Departure
9. America – Self-titled
10. Stefan Grossman – Yazoo Basin Boogie

F*cking no. There are literally zero ambient albums in there. Terrible.

He uses "cold" to describe ambient a lot. Could be the something from Canada.
