Default Sneakers - awesome Danish 80's band
This must be the first thread dedicated to this band. I've got a bad obsession developing with this band and I can't contain my excitement. Since everyone will soon have to ask me to stop spamming them everywhere otherwise, I'm making a thread dedicated to the band that you can all safely ignore

I really dig their mix of simple pop rock songs with a slight sort of progressive sound to them. I'm reminded, among other things, of some of the musical stylings of Steely Dan. Although, unlike Steely Dan, Sneakers is not a god awfully boring band.

My fanboy level is currently over 9000 and rising. Didn't even know the band existed until a couple weeks ago.

The first and third videos won't play in America I guess but the second video makes me think the singer might be alright if she weren't backed by some of the worst 80s schlock rock I've ever heard. The last video can eat this dick.

I love the music partially because it sounds so ridiculously 80's. It's distilled 80's sounds in a very charming way!

The singer, Sanne Salomonsen, went on to have a very succesful solo career when the band dissolved after just 4 albums released in the early 80's. She's still active to this day and always a popular artist at Danish music festivals.

I've mentioned it before, but my current profile pic is her 1985 solo debut, 1 year after Sneakers went up in smoke.

Board game night at my place tomorrow. Probably gonna annoy people by playing the entire Sneakers discography. People mostly let me control the stereo, which either means they're fine with what I'm playing or that they think everything I have is **** so what's the difference.
