thanks The drummer is Terry Bozzio, Terry was married to lead singer Dale at the time. Prior to forming their band, Missing Persons, they both worked with Frank Zappa ... believe it or not!

Broadcast - Colour Me In
I love Trish Keenan. She died way too soon.

Oriphiel - seriously liked this, so playful
Neapolitan - The Broadcast song is gorgeous. And what a lovely voice. (Edit: listened to it again and it actually made me cry. First song in this thread that did that, although Frown's Drone Bomb Me rec came close). I found the second one enjoyable but a little uneventful. I was mildly enthusiastic about the third one, I liked the combination of the staccato and dragging tones, but the last song really captivated me. That chord change at 0:50 for instance, I love it when music does that

I'm humbled by that, I don't know what to say.

What can I say but I have varied taste and like both eventful and uneventful music. I can understand why Ladytron might not wow!!! people but there are all these little things I like Ladytron, it's hard to explain. There were a couple of songs I could have gone with, but I decided to go with the first track off their debut album. I am going out on a limb and say they named their band after a Roxy Music tune. There a few bands that do that, name themselves after a tune. Which reminds me of the next couple of songs.

It's either a coincidence ... or the Finnish band named them after a My Favorite song. My Favorite were a group that cultivated an 80s sound while other bands were Grungey. They toured Europe and were suppose to be influential there, so it's possible.

Roxy Music - Ladytron (Old Grey Whistle Test, 1972)

burning hearts - i lost my colour vision

My Favorite "Burning Hearts"

Well at first I intended only to post Revenge Of The Black Regent but I posted the wrong song. While I was editing the post I decided to keep Black Regent so you know why the Black Regent got revenge.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Neapolitan - Well, thank you for that lovely rec. I suspect that when I call some electronic music or hiphop uneventful it's partly because I have a bit of a blind spot for those genres.
I love how that version of Ladytron is more spaced out, really cool. The second song is straightforward in an effective way, it works well for me. I really like the third one, the melody of the verses is great (the way it bends at the third line and then bends back at 'in Hiroshiimaaa'), the guitar in the last part.

ziggywas - The first song is allright for me in a nice background groove way, but there is a second song in the same video that I liked quite a lot, especially the beat and the sound of the guitars. The last song is fun, his singing/rapping is a pleasure to listen to.

I like how My Favorite "Burning Hearts" tells a story and how it's crammed with music, a lot of it reminiscent of the 80s. The next three are French, or half of the band was French, somewhere there is a French connection.

Stereolab - Cellulose Sunshine

Elli et Jacno - Anne Cherchait L'Amour

Melody's Echo Chamber - I Follow You (Official Music Video)
Melody Prochet + Kevin Parker (from Tame Impala)

A track from a concept album about the Wizard of Oz but with weed by one of the guys from the Insane Clown Posse.
