Default Is Western Music Actually Interesting or Is It Just Picking Influence Off the $ Menu?

I had to take stuff off the title to fit but is modern Western music actually interesting or is it just pampered artists picking influences off the dollar menu? People talk all day about the democratization of music and how it makes music better but is it just goofy white people assuming that choice means quality in the same way that goofy white people assume that choice in the market place makes for better products? Cause as far as I can tell all this choice just makes for an uninteresting smorgasbord of generic **** that no one cares about unless they're obsessed with the cultural minutiae of what artist is hot or not.

Don't be dumb. You know full well you're the side attraction to the Needle Drop and you talk about plenty of Needle Drop ****.

I mean seriously the musical revolution happening underneath your feet was as monumental as the meme revolution happening underneath your feet and so both must have been as amazing.

Bitch you know I'm an idiot don't waste my time with that.

So you're talking about popular music? Ja I think that the generic and terrible artists that clutter the field have in part contributed to less interesting releases that are widely received. The lower common denominator is lower than ever because people are too invested in digging around in their niche to let someone else be a gatekeeper and the diamonds in the rough have a lot of distance in between them, making them harder to find (source: deafbox sales figures). I prefer the ability of anybody to drop an album for goofy white people to choose from to the classic model of goofy white people dictating who can release music by either doing it themselves with their daddy's money or on the record executive level.

You know who was monumental? Hitler. I hope you're pleased with yourself.

Yeah, okay, but what's there to listen to that isn't just something that you like to listen to? Cause let's be honest. Everything you've ever said about democratization in music on this forum has been in service to telling people about the stuff that you like to listen to. You're just here to flap gums and find people who have fun having fun about exactly what makes you happy listening to music.

I mean if this was just a site for weirdo experimental and modern classical fans that would all be ****ing amazing, but there's a million and one people who want to listen to music that has nothing to do with you and you actively don't know the first thing about what they want to listen to. You're just here to trick people into listening to your cutesy spam.

And that's why this site is just spam for you and OH trying to get people to listen to free jazz but means not a damn thing to anybody else.

Ah, so this is just some kind of hate boner blaming the decentralization of music on MB instead of an actual discussion about Western music and the way that the industry is shifting.

I don't think you understand the difference but who cares cause you wouldn't understand the battlefield.
