I really like this. 60s folk rock with psychedelic touches, though the video was obviously made many years after the song was recorded. Love Mull’s rough voice. It’s hard to find much information about him online. What do you know about him, DMBFFF?

I detect also a bit of soul, and while the video clip(s) probably did come years later, they seem old enough (maybe ≥50 years old).

Yeah, I tried searching for information about him too, but to little avail.

I came across him (i.e. this video) a few months ago (probably last April) when I came across this YouTube channel: heavenlyblueorange. I was listening to a bunch of videos from it and came across this and The Vejtables. Perhaps I'll post some more from this channel in future.

Surprised to see a Regis Mull track mentioned here.
The flipside of that single actually got more play, but I think
that Folkways didn't really know what to do with him 'cause
he sounded like he wanted to be bluesy like Eric Burdon,
garage like Larry Tamblyn and a beat poet (which wasn't
fashionable anymore) all at the same time as having sweeps of
psychedelia-laced instrumentation. The lyrics were pretty limiting too.
So, what to do with that combo? Anyway, he died in his 60s about
a dozen or so years ago.

not that far away at all.

I think this Mayer Howthorne feller has some Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan records.

(still worth a few more listens, though. )
